Your Mission
Lead the evolution of our marketing function with a clear initial focus on building our lead generation engine from scratch, followed by developing broader marketing capabilities. You'll establish our first demand generation systems while setting the foundation for a comprehensive marketing strategy that supports our growth in the maritime technology sector.
Immediate Priority: Build the Demand Engine (First 90 Days)
- Establish our demand generation infrastructure from zero, including paid digital channels, outbound email programs, and conversion tracking
- Implement comprehensive lead management processes in our CRM to score, nurture, and distribute qualified leads to Sales
- Define and track clear pipeline contribution metrics with specific ROI targets
Strategy & Leadership (As We Scale)
- Develop and execute the marketing strategy across the full funnel, from awareness to conversion
- Lead and mentor a high-performing marketing team (currently 2: Senior Marketing Manager & Senior Product Marketing Manager)
- Set clear KPIs tied to sales pipeline contribution, MQLs/SQLs, CAC, and customer expansion
- Manage the marketing budget with a focus on high-ROI initiatives
Demand Generation & Digital Marketing
- Design, launch and optimize performance-driven campaigns across digital channels (LinkedIn, search, email, industry publications)
- Create high-converting landing pages, lead magnets, and website experiences that generate qualified leads
- Leverage CRM and analytics tools to track performance, attribute results, and continuously improve
Sales Enablement
- Partner with Sales to develop materials that directly support pipeline conversion: case studies, pitch decks, battlecards
- Establish scalable lead nurturing workflows and support account-based marketing initiatives
- Create a tight feedback loop between Sales and Marketing to refine lead quality criteria
Brand, Events & Thought Leadership (Secondary Focus)
- Shape Kaiko's voice in the market through strategic messaging and content
- Strategically select and manage participation in industry events with clear ROI expectations
- Support employer branding initiatives in collaboration with the People team
Your Experience & Skills to Navigate Success
Must-Have:
- 7+ years of B2B SaaS marketing experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role
- Proven experience building marketing and lead generation systems from scratch in at least one previous role
- Strong track record in digital demand generation with measurable pipeline contribution
- Experience establishing and operating outbound email programs that deliver qualified leads
- Proficiency with HubSpot (or similar platforms) and performance analytics
- Experience with attribution modeling and ROI measurement
Highly Valued:
- Experience in maritime, logistics, or other trust-heavy B2B industries
- Familiarity with product marketing and sales enablement in complex sales environments
- A player-coach mindset: equally capable of strategic planning and tactical execution
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
Success Metrics:
In this role, you'll initially be measured on:
- Contributing 30-40% of sales pipeline through marketing-sourced leads within 6 months
- Establishing a predictable cost-per-SQL that demonstrates positive unit economics
- Creating scalable lead generation systems that can grow with the business
As the function matures, success metrics will expand to include broader marketing KPIs, team development, and brand impact. This role requires both strategic vision and hands-on execution skills. You'll need to build systems from scratch while setting the foundation for a comprehensive marketing function that drives Kaiko's growth in a global, high-trust industry.
