Your mission
As a Senior UX Designer, you will take full ownership of the user experience across Kaiko Systems’ platform, driving the design direction and shaping a collaborative design identity that aligns with our mission of revolutionizing maritime operations. You will play a critical role in ensuring the platform enables teams onshore and onboard vessels to work together seamlessly, providing them with intuitive, user-centric solutions.
In this role, you will not only lead the redesign and optimization of existing platform elements but also collaborate closely with the existing design team to ensure consistency and alignment in design principles. Your expertise will be key in enhancing the user interface, workflows, and overall user experience to better meet customer needs and business objectives.
You will work to transform complex operational processes into streamlined, collaborative experiences, ensuring that the platform fosters trust, engagement, and ease of use at every touchpoint. By taking ownership of the design strategy and collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will ensure that both the visual and functional aspects of the platform are continually optimized to create a lasting impact across the maritime ecosystem.
Your skillset to navigate success:
- Define the collaborative identity of the platform: Establish a cohesive and user-centric design language that fosters seamless teamwork between vessel crews and onshore teams.
- Own and evolve the platform's design: Take full responsibility for refining, maintaining, and innovating the platform’s interface to meet customer needs and align with the company’s mission.
- Refactor and redesign existing platform elements: Enhance the usability and consistency of current features, addressing user feedback and ensuring a modern, polished experience.
- Conduct user research and testing: Engage with users through interviews, surveys, and usability testing to gather actionable insights and validate design decisions.
- Create and iterate on design deliverables: Develop user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups that translate insights into impactful solutions.
- Build and maintain a design system: Ensure scalability and visual consistency across the platform by establishing a comprehensive design system.
- Collaborate cross-functionally: Partner with Product, Engineering, and Operations teams to align design efforts with business goals and technical feasibility.
- Collaborate with design team members: Work closely with the existing design team to share knowledge, align on design direction, and ensure consistent application of design principles across the platform.
- Advocate for accessibility and usability: Champion best practices to ensure the platform is inclusive and intuitive for all users.
- Analyze and iterate on platform performance: Leverage user feedback, analytics, and KPIs to refine designs and enhance customer satisfaction over time.
Your profile:
- You have 5+ years of experience as a UX Designer, with a proven track record of designing successful user interfaces and experiences.
- You have hands-on experience in designing web and mobile applications and are skilled in wireframing, prototyping, and user testing.
- You have a strong understanding of UX principles such as user research, interaction design, information architecture, and usability testing.
- You are proficient in design tools like Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or other similar platforms.
- You are a problem solver who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, able to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- You are passionate about user-centered design and have the ability to drive design decisions based on research and user feedback.
