Head of Trading

We are looking for an experienced Head of Trading to lead our trading desk. In this role, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of our trading operations, overseeing risk management, and ensuring seamless execution of our dealing functions. Your primary focus will be to ensure that all trading activities are conducted efficiently, compliantly, and profitably. You will also drive strategic initiatives, implement cutting-edge technologies, and adapt to market trends in order to achieve our financial goals.

Responsibilities:

• Contribute to the development and execution of the company's strategic goals, particularly in relation to trading operations and market expansion;
• Lead and manage the team, ensuring high levels of performance, engagement, and development;
• Establish and implement dealing policies, procedures, and best practices;
• Ensure the trading operations are compliant with internal risk policies and external regulatory requirements;
• Monitor market conditions and adjust the company's trading strategies as necessary to optimise profitability;
• Manage the company's risk exposure, market risk, credit risk, and liquidity risk implementing risk management frameworks and tools and setting and adjusting hedging strategies as required;
• Ensure all dealing activities comply with relevant regulations and industry standards, including those set by financial authorities such as the FCA, CySEC, or ASIC;
• Oversee the selection, implementation, and maintenance of trading platforms and systems;
• Collaborate closely with other departments, including Product, Compliance, Engineering, Back Office and Marketing, to ensure seamless operations and to support the company's strategic goals;
• Liaise with key stakeholders, including clients, liquidity providers, regulators to ensure the smooth operation of the trading desk;
• Stay updated on the latest technological developments in the trading sector and evaluate their potential effects on the company's operations.

Requirements:

• Extensive experience in a senior dealing or trading role within the CFD brokerage industry;
• 3+ years of effective team management experience;
• Deep understanding of financial markets, particularly CFDs, forex, commodities, indices, and equities;
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements in multiple jurisdictions (e.g., Europe, Asia-Pacific, Middle East);
• Strong knowledge of risk management principles and practices in a trading environment;
• Experience with trading platforms such as MetaTrader 4/5, cTrader, or proprietary platforms;
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail;
• Ability to work under pressure and make quick, informed decisions in a fast-paced environment;
• Fluent or at least Upper-Intermediate level of English;
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field. A master’s degree or professional qualifications (e.g., CFA, FRM) is a plus.
