Station Hub Senior Operator - Yopougon Niangon - Jumia (Full time)

What you will be doing

  • Inbound/Outbound Supervision: Actively coordinate the unloading of shuttles. Ensure every package is scanned without delay and stored in the correct zone.
  • Returns Management (RTO): Daily sort and scan expired packages to return them to the central sorting center without errors.
  • Maintenance of Order: Guarantee perfect organization of the back-office to ensure fast customer service.
  • Task Allocation: Assign roles to junior operators, such as counter service or scanning, based on customer flow.
  • Continuous Training: Support new agents on the ground by demonstrating tool usage and customer service standards.
  • Back-up Management: Take charge of the Hub in the Manager's absence to ensure continuity of service and reporting.
  • Queue Management: Intervene during peak traffic periods to accelerate package delivery and clear the counter.
  • Escalation: Handle dissatisfied customers or complex cases, such as incorrect PIN codes or system discrepancies.
  • Inventories: Assist the Manager in physical counts to identify stock gaps.
  • Quality Control: Verify that equipment like scanners and POS terminals are functional at the start of the day.

What we are looking for

  • Education: High School Diploma to Associate's Degree (Bac to Bac+2).
  • Experience: 1 to 2 years of field experience in logistics, retail, or customer service. Previous experience at Jumia is a major asset.
  • Technical Skills: Perfect mastery of logistics scanning tools and WMS mobile applications.
  • IT Literacy: Basic knowledge of Excel for sending simple operational reports.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to quickly understand operational dashboards.
  • 100% "Hands-on": Ready to carry loads, organize, and lead by example on the floor.
  • Exemplarity & Pedagogy: Capable of guiding colleagues in a professional and firm manner.
  • Stress Management: Maintain composure during high-pressure periods like Black Friday.

Recruitment Process

The recruitment process consists of two main stages:

  1. HR meeting
  2. Business meeting #1 with the potential manager
