Performance Senior Associate - Jumia (Full Time)

The Performance Senior Associate in Supply Chain is responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and optimizing supply chain operations to ensure efficiency, effectiveness, and alignment with organizational goals. This role focuses on performance metrics, process improvements, and collaboration across departments to enhance supply chain outcomes.

What you will be doing:

  1. Performance Monitoring & Reporting:
    • Track and analyze supply chain KPIs (e.g., delivery times, inventory levels, fulfillment accuracy).
    • Prepare and present regular performance reports to senior management.
    • Identify trends and areas for improvement based on data insights.
  2. Process Optimization:
    • Collaborate with supply chain teams to streamline processes, reduce bottlenecks, and enhance productivity.
    • Drive initiatives to improve order accuracy, delivery times, and overall efficiency.
    • Assist in the development and implementation of process improvement strategies using data-driven approaches (Lean, Six Sigma, etc.).
  3. Data Analysis & Forecasting:
    • Perform in-depth analysis of supply chain data to inform decision-making.
    • Support demand forecasting and inventory planning to optimize stock levels and minimize costs.
    • Utilize advanced analytics tools to improve supply chain performance and predict future trends.
  4. Cross-functional Collaboration:
    • Work closely with procurement, logistics, and warehouse teams to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
    • Collaborate with internal stakeholders (e.g., finance, operations) to align supply chain performance with broader company goals.
    • Partner with external vendors and service providers to ensure optimal service levels.
  5. Problem Solving & Issue Resolution:
    • Identify, analyze, and resolve operational challenges and inefficiencies in the supply chain.
    • Develop corrective action plans to mitigate risks and improve performance.
    • Lead root cause analysis for issues related to supply chain disruptions or inefficiencies.
  6. Compliance & Risk Management:
    • Ensure compliance with industry standards, legal requirements, and internal policies related to supply chain operations.
    • Proactively manage risks within the supply chain to prevent disruptions and ensure continuity.
  7. Team Support & Leadership:
    • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members within the supply chain department.
    • Participate in training sessions to build supply chain performance knowledge across teams.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

  • Improvement in supply chain efficiency metrics (e.g., order-to-delivery times, fulfillment accuracy).
  • Reduction in operational costs and waste.
  • Timely and accurate performance reports.
  • Successful implementation of process improvements and cost-saving initiatives.
  • On-time issue resolution and minimal supply chain disruptions.

What we are looking for:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Management, or a related field.
  • Experience: 3-5 years of experience in supply chain operations, performance analysis, or related roles.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Strong proficiency in data analysis tools (Excel, SQL, or other analytics platforms).
    • Familiarity with supply chain management software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar).
    • Experience with process improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma) is a plus.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
    • Ability to work well both independently and within a team.
    • Proven track record of managing projects and delivering results on time.
    • Familiarity with industry trends and best practices in supply chain management.
    • Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
    • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
