The Key Account Manager (KAM) for Computing is a strategic commercial role dedicated to driving the growth, revenue, and market share of Jumia’s hardware and technology portfolio (including laptops, desktops, and computing accessories). Acting as the primary commercial link, this role is responsible for managing high-value relationships with top global brands, distributors, and vendors. By analyzing tech market trends and securing competitive pricing and stock availability, the KAM ensures that Jumia remains the preferred destination for computing consumers.

 

What you will be doing:

  • Vendor & Account Management: Manage key accounts, top brands, and distributors within the Computing category to build strong, long-lasting commercial partnerships.

  • Commercial Growth: Develop and implement category-specific commercial strategies to scale sales volume, maximize revenue, and grow Jumia's computing market share.

  • Campaign Execution: Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to create and execute high-impact promotional campaigns (e.g., Tech Week, Black Friday etc) tailored to computing consumers.

  • Market Analysis: Analyze sales data, stock turn, and tech market trends to identify growth opportunities, gap assortments, and competitive pricing strategies.

  • Performance Tracking: Monitor and report on core category metrics, including GMV, stock health/inventory levels, and vendor operational fulfillment.

  • Commercial Negotiations: Lead commercial negotiations to secure exclusive product launches, best-in-market pricing, and optimal margin contributions from computing vendors.

  • Vendor Support: Provide proactive business support to key computing partners, resolving operational bottlenecks and tracking their growth on the platform.

  • Tech Industry Expertise: Stay deeply updated on global and local hardware trends, upcoming product releases, competitor positioning, and shifting consumer tech preferences.

  • Cross-Functional Alignment: Work closely with operations, logistics, and content teams to ensure seamless inbound scheduling, stock availability, and high-quality product listings.

 

What we are looking for:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, or a related field.

  • Professional Experience: Minimum 2 years of proven commercial or account management experience, ideally within the e-commerce, tech retail, or consumer electronics industries.

  • Category Expertise: A strong understanding of the Computing category, including deep knowledge of hardware specifications, brand positioning, and consumer tech market dynamics.

  • Commercial & Negotiation Skills: Sharp commercial acumen with excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills to secure premium deals with major tech brands.

  • Analytical Capabilities: Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with proficiency in Excel and data tools to monitor inventory health, sales targets, and market trends.

  • Strategic & Results-Driven: Ability to think strategically and execute actionable commercial plans that consistently drive category GMV and growth.

  • Agility & Drive: A proactive, self-motivated approach with the ability to thrive, prioritize, and multi-task within a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
