What you will be doing:
- Oversee daily operations within the sorting hub, ensuring efficient sorting, handling, and processing of incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Coordinate with sorting hub staff to assign tasks, prioritize workload, and optimize workflow to meet operational targets and deadlines.
- Train, mentor, and supervise sorting hub operators to ensure adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety protocols.
- Monitor sorting equipment and machinery, identifying maintenance needs and coordinating repairs or maintenance activities as required.
- Conduct regular quality checks and inspections of sorted items to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with customer specifications and regulatory requirements.
- Resolve operational issues and address customer inquiries or concerns related to sorting and handling processes in a timely and professional manner.
- Maintain accurate records of sorting activities, including shipment volumes, processing times, and inventory levels, using appropriate documentation and tracking systems.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as Logistics, Warehouse, and Customer Service, to coordinate inbound and outbound shipments and facilitate smooth handover processes.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives to optimize sorting processes, reduce errors, and enhance overall efficiency and productivity.
- Promote a culture of safety, quality, and teamwork among sorting hub staff, emphasizing adherence to safety guidelines and best practices.
What we are looking for:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field preferred.
- years of experience in sorting hub operations, logistics, or warehouse management, with demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills.
- Proven ability to operate sorting equipment and machinery, including conveyors, scanners, and sorting systems.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, make decisions, and resolve issues in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with team members, customers, and stakeholders.
- Proficiency in using technology tools and systems for tracking, monitoring, and reporting sorting activities.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in sorting hub operations.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required by operational needs.
