Job Objective
As a Senior Key Account Manager, you will have end-to-end responsibility for the customer experience and growth of the key vendors assigned to you. You will play a critical role in bringing in relevant assortment, designing targeted promotions, and managing key vendors in our marketplace—including direct communication and relationship management with Chinese supplier partners.
What you will be doing
- Directly manage partner relationships and execute smart partnerships, overseeing negotiation to execution.
- Interface directly with Chinese vendors: manage relationships, negotiate terms, and ensure effective communication between Jumia and our Chinese supplier partners.
- Lead project implementation analysis and translate it into actionable tasks to ensure continuous improvement.
- Ensure continuous growth of our existing business by owning pricing and promotions strategy, working with marketing teams to improve product content and visibility, and managing stock availability by coordinating teams across the business to bring the product to the customer.
- Manage complete sales performance of the Mid and Long-Tail Categories, vendor and merchant management, and monitor sales strategies to increase the Business Unit’s Net Margin Position (NMP) and Gross Merchandise Volume (GMV).
- Drive customer acquisition through value offering and sales campaign management.
- Create and present strategic insights for the Business Unit to gain alignment on major initiatives at multiple levels of the organization.
- Analyze and present post-promotion analysis for retail and marketplace, quantifying impact to brand and category.
- Define and optimize curation/assortment selection strategy for your portfolio, ensuring relevance of selection/styling to optimize revenues and sales velocity.
- Support product and content creation process to increase live assortment.
- Plan and maintain constant stock availability.
- Identify broader trends and fill category gaps.
- Build weekly marketing plans, contributing to decisions on which products/subcategories will be promoted on the website and through all marketing channels (off- and on-platform).
- Develop strong analytics to evaluate daily/weekly/monthly performance and optimize further marketing, pricing, and product selection.
What we are looking for
- Proficiency in Chinese (Mandarin) required—must be able to communicate professionally (written and spoken) with Chinese vendors and partners.
- 5-7 years of relevant experience in account management, sales or vendor relations.
- Ability to prioritize key accounts.
- Process improvement management.
- Good understanding of P&L and cash-flow management.
- Skilled negotiation and value-based selling.
- Experience negotiating bulk discounts, MOQs, and credit terms.
- Experience building partnerships with strategic OEMs.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including presentation skills.
