New York, New York

WHY WORK AT JOE & THE JUICE

JOE & THE JUICE is a people-centric food and beverage company built around culture, not just juice, sandwiches, coffee, and much more. When joining us, you step into a high-energy community where the music is loud, the bar is your stage, and your personality matters as much as your skills.

We believe in four simple virtues that shape everything we do:

  • Positive Attitude
  • Inclusion
  • Social Ties
  • Growth

For us, this means that when you choose a cup-half-full mindset, welcome people from every background, build real friendships across the bar by creating great guest experiences, and use every shift as a chance to learn something new — you become more than just a Juicer; like us, you continue to search and find purpose and meaning in what you do.

From your first day, you’ll be part of an international network of Juicers who support each other, celebrate wins together, and push each other to grow. You will learn by doing, move through a clear Moneyball career path, and be part of a company where most leaders have earned their stripes behind the bar (fun fact: over 75% of our employees started as Juicers!).

If you love fast-paced service, music, people, and the idea of turning a job into a lifestyle, JOE can become a place to build skills, friendships, and a career that can take you across cities, countries, and roles.

We are seeking an experienced individual to join our team in New York, (relocation to Copenhagen, Denmark possible) as the Internal Control Senior Manger to oversee and spearhead internal controls and SOX compliance initiatives across the organization. Reporting to the VP, External Reporting, Controlling and Tax, at the Copenhagen HQ, the Internal Control Lead will work closely with stakeholders across multiple functions to strengthen processes, improve governance, and support a strong control environment.

The ideal candidate will possess a combination of SOX, internal controls, audit, and operational experience, with the ability to balance strategic thinking and hands-on execution in a dynamic business environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the company’s SOX 404 implementation program, including scoping, risk assessment, control design, testing, and remediation. Assess process effectiveness and drive improvement efforts across systems, workflows, and data management.
  • Oversee assessments, reviews, and testing of internal controls, risk management activities, and IT general controls (ITGCs), including key application controls supporting financial reporting systems.
  • Monitor compliance-related activities, help maintain compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements, and support remediation efforts as needed.
  • Prepare summaries, analyses, and reports for leadership regarding compliance and control matters.
  • Develop and deliver training to strengthen control awareness and ownership across the business.
  • Liaise with external auditors and coordinate SOX scoping, testing, and remediation of findings.

Who You Are

  • CPA, CIA, CISA, or equivalent certification strongly preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in internal controls, SOX compliance, and audit. Big-4 background, experience with implementing a SOX framework. Experience from a public company, with a quarterly reporting cadence, is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience leading initiatives focused on governance, compliance, or process improvement.
  • Experience operating in a complex or rapidly evolving business environment is preferred.
  • Strong project management and process improvement capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with employees, internal teams, and external partners.

JOE & THE JUICE goes beyond products toward the full experience around the bar, creating a consistent universe for guests and Juicers in all our locations.

We invest heavily in internal development through our Moneyball career system and a culture where most leaders, including C-suite, VPs, and directors, have started behind the bar.
