JOB SUMMARY

The Senior Lease Controller will preferably be based at our HQ in Copenhagen, Denmark, reporting to the Head of Controlling. The Senior Lease Controller supports the Head of Controlling and partners closely with the Real Estate and Growth team. You will own end-to-end lease accounting for JTJ's global store portfolio under IFRS 16, supporting SOX 404 control ownership and audit readiness as part of the company's IPO preparation. This position is a key role in supporting the continued growth of the business. Role is a full-time job and reports to the Head of Controlling.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Own and maintain the global lease register (ROU assets, lease liabilities) across all markets in Trullion and D365 F&O
• Assess new leases, amendments, terminations, and renewals for IFRS 16 classification and remeasurement, including sale-leaseback and modification accounting
• Partner with Real Estate and Legal on new lease agreements to ensure timely, accurate system setup and contract data integrity
• Own the monthly reconciliation of the lease sub-ledger to the GL; investigate and resolve variances
• Review and approve monthly lease journal entries
• Lead impairment testing of ROU assets (IAS 36) and assessment of onerous contracts (IAS 37) for underperforming stores
• Serve as control owner for the lease process under SOX 404; support internal and external audit testing
• Prepare lease disclosures, maturity analysis, and supporting schedules for annual financial statements
• Set and monitor lease accounting policy across entities and local GAAP; act as escalation point for complex technical issues
• Mentor and review the work of junior team members
• Support finance transformation initiatives tied to lease process automation and system enhancements

WHO YOU ARE

• 7+ years of experience in a controller role with real estate / lease accounting, ideally with multi-site retail exposure
• Comfortable owning a high-volume, multi-currency, multi-entity process
• Experience in an IPO-readiness or newly public company environment
• Experience leading or mentoring junior finance staff

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

• Hands-on IFRS 16 experience; ASC 842 experience is a plus
• ERP and lease software experience required; D365 F&O or other Dynamics ERP strongly preferred
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or equivalent credential preferred
• Danish or other European language skills
