JOB SUMMARY

We're seeking an experienced Director of Accounting Operations to lead and scale our core financial functions. This role oversees the Shared Service Center (SSC), including Revenue, Accounts Receivable (A/R), Accounts Payable (A/P), Payroll, and Fixed Assets, ensuring operational excellence, robust internal controls, and seamless month-end close and accounting processes. Reporting to the VP, External Reporting, Controlling and Tax, you'll carry a mandate to expand the SSC's scope, standardize processes across jurisdictions, and drive the transformation required to support the Company during an extensive growth phase. This is not a steady-state role - you'll inherit an existing function and be expected to drive process improvements, efficiencies, quality, and automation, building a scalable organization capable of operating as a public company. The position is a full-time role.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Own end-to-end delivery of Revenue & AR, AP, Fixed Assets, and Payroll across multiple legal entities and geographies.
• Execute a transformation roadmap for the SSC, establishing and enforcing standardized policies, procedures, and service level agreements across markets.
• Build, develop, and manage the SSC team in Copenhagen, including succession planning and talent development.
• Oversee month-end and year-end close processes across the group's legal entities, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.
• Partner with the Controlling and External Reporting team on audits of operational accounting areas during quarterly reviews and annual audits.
• Partner with the Head of Controlling, Internal Control team, and external advisors to build SSC processes fit for PCAOB audit and SEC reporting standards.
• Support intercompany process and reconciliation across a multi-entity, multi-currency group.
• Manage external relationships with banking partners and AP/ERP vendors.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with executive leadership, Finance, and business partners to align operational goals, communicate key performance indicators, and influence strategic decisions.

WHO YOU ARE

• 15+ years of progressive experience in finance operations, shared services, or controllership, with at least 3-5 years in a senior leadership role.
• Demonstrated track record of transforming or scaling a shared service function - not just running one.
• Prior experience in a publicly listed, or PE/VC-backed international company strongly preferred.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

• Hands-on experience with ERP systems - Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O experience is a significant advantage - plus exposure to SOX/ICFR frameworks and audit processes (Big 4 or equivalent).
• Strong process orientation, able to document, design, and improve end-to-end financial workflows, with analytical rigor combined with practical execution capability.
• Comfortable operating in ambiguity and driving structure in a fast-moving environment, with fluency in English required.
