Support Engineer (Business Applications Development)
At JetBrains, we build developer tools. Since 2000, we’ve focused on helping developers work faster and more efficiently. Our tools automate routine checks and fixes, so developers can focus on solving problems and building products.
JetBrains relies on internal applications to support key business processes. The Business Applications Development team develops and supports our CRM system, the JetBrains Account portal, License Vault, and other services, including product licensing and billing.
We are currently looking for an experienced Support Engineer to join the team and strengthen and support our efforts.
In this role, you will:
- Provide technical support through a help-desk system, issue tracker, and Slack channels
- Investigate user-reported issues: reproduce, localize, and describe them before handing them off to developers.
- Review new feature requests and collect user feedback. Share input with the team to help shape product direction.
- Maintain and improve our internal knowledge base.
- Perform testing as part of research investigations and research tasks.
We’ll be happy to have you on our team if you:
- Have 2+ years of experience supporting web applications and cloud services.
- Have strong written and spoken English (B2 or higher).
- Have good knowledge of SQL.
- Know the basics of Linux administration, including bash, grep, and SSH.
- Can explain complicated topics clearly and solve problems of different levels of difficulty.
- Can work independently without close supervision.
- Enjoy helping users.
We’ll be especially glad if you:
- Have experience testing web applications, cloud services, or other complex products.
- Have worked with payment gateways or billing systems
- Understand how web applications work.
- Have experience in administering different operating systems.
How we work:
We write our code in Kotlin. Our system includes several web applications and the infrastructure that supports them. We have our own ORM and MVC, and our code is built to handle high production loads. The team is distributed.
