Automation Electrician (m/f/d)

Mission Brief 

The Department for Infrastructure, Safety and Service (ISS) is seeking an Automation Electrician to help strengthen our electrical department. ISS is responsible for the maintenance, operation, and safety of our technical infrastructure, including electrical systems. The main responsibilities will be operation and maintenance of electrical systems at the Launch Pad, but you will also provide support in other buildings. The facility consists of nearly 60 electrical switchboards distributed across three locations: LOC, AIT, and the Launch Pad.

Your Role in Our Space Mission: 

  • Operate and maintain electrical systems (24V/400V and PLC systems).
  • Collaborate to achieve goals across all areas, including close cooperation with colleagues in the operations team and in Germany.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and follow up on maintenance tasks.
  • Troubleshoot and repair faults.
  • Support during commissioning of systems.
  • Wiring and connecting sensors and actuators.
  • Participate in the on-call duty schedule.
  • Be a part of the industrial emergency response team “Industrivern”

Qualification Checklist 

  • Certificate of apprenticeship as an automation and/or electrician (DSB approval required)
  • Authorization as a responsible electrician for Norwegian facilities.
  • Experience in operation and maintenance of industrial installations (candidates with relevant experience will be prioritized)
  • Familiarity with applicable standards, regulations, and legislation within the electrical field
  • Knowledge of PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) and machine safety
  • Proficient in both Norwegian and English, written and spoken
  • Good communication skills
  • Driver’s license, class B
  • Cooperative and solution-oriented, but also able to work independently
  • Strong commitment to HSE regulations (health, safety, and environment), with safety always as the top priority.
  • Structured and organized way of working

Bonus Skills

  • Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and automation
  • Experience with ATEX (explosive atmospheres)
  • Various certificates: G4, T4, M4
  • BE driver’s license
