The IONOS Cloud IaaS/PaaS allows a maximum of flexibility to configure virtual servers, including their networking and storage devices. While our customers can easily modify their virtual data centers, we take care of the physical resources this data center is built on. That includes hypervisor machines hosting the customer VMs, storage servers providing the persistent storage and the provisioning software that orchestrates it all.

From the end-to-end QA’s perspective, this opens up a sheer endless variation of test combinations. Keeping an eye on non-functional tests (such as load- and stress-tests) as well as checking the lower layers of our SW solution require an open mindset combined with the right combination of technical and soft skills.

Tasks

• Carrying out complex testing tasks.
• Creating performance metrics and statistics.
• Co-operate with development for optimization and debugging.
• Automate test cases and partner with other team members to further develop the test environment.
• Draft and execute test plans for e.g. performance, load, stress and security testing.

Qualifications

• Solid experience in the field of test automation and with test processes (ISTQB), ideally based on Linux environments.
• Experience with testing SOAP/REST-based interfaces.
• You have good knowledge of Python and using Bash on Linux-based systems.
• Understanding both cloud and virtualization concepts.
• Highly experienced in and knowledgeable of test techniques such as End to End testing, Component Testing, Integration Testing, boundary analysis, type checking, negative testing, test-data coverage analysis, coverage testing and other techniques.
• Fluent in English, knowledge of German is an advantage.

Nice to have:

• Proven professional experience in the field of Quality Assurance, preferably in the web service or Kubernetes environment.
• Knowledge of distributed systems and network knowledge is an advantage.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to details.
