
AI Integration & Quality Team Leader

The AI Integration Team Leader is a leadership role responsible for driving the overall success of the AI Integration function. This role provides strategic oversight across AI prompt engineering, release management, and conversational design, ensuring that AI-driven solutions enhance client experience, meet compliance standards, and align with business objectives. The Team Leader balances innovation with operational stability, serving as the primary link between AI integration specialists, cross-functional stakeholders, and organizational leadership.
This position requires a mix of technical expertise, people leadership, and strategic execution to ensure AI systems remain accurate, safe, and scalable across multiple markets and product lines.
The role is based in our office in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
What you'll actually do
- To establish and execute a clear vision and roadmap for AI integration initiatives.
- To lead and mentor a team of AI Integration Specialists, Sr. Specialists, Release Specialist, and Conversational Lead.
- To ensure seamless deployment of AI features with minimal disruption to business operations.
- To maintain a balance between innovation, compliance, and operational reliability in all AI-driven workflows.
- Define the strategic roadmap for AI integration, including prompt engineering, conversation design, and release management.
- Develop KPIs and success metrics to measure team impact on business outcomes (accuracy, compliance, efficiency, client experience).
- Anticipate business needs and proactively evolve AI workflows to support growth, regulatory requirements, and new product launches.
- Stay updated on AI/automation trends to ensure continuous innovation and competitive advantage.
- Lead a diverse team of AI Integration Specialists, Sr. Specialists, Sr. Release Specialist, and Conversational Lead.
- Define clear roles, responsibilities, and performance expectations.
- Allocate resources effectively to balance development, testing, release, and incident management.
- Mentor and coach team members to strengthen technical expertise, problem solving, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Conduct regular calibration and alignment sessions to maintain consistency in quality and approach.
- Build and maintain strong relationships by identifying stakeholders, aligning expectations, facilitating communication, gathering feedback, and ensuring their input informs decisions.
- Serve as the primary bridge between AI Integration and partner functions, including: Product Management - capturing business requirements, aligning AI solutions with client-facing priorities. CIA - integrating AI workflows with backend tools, APIs, and automation systems. QA - validating prompt logic, testing release readiness, and monitoring AI quality post-deployment.
- Knowledge Management (KM) - ensuring chatbot responses align with knowledge base content and policies.
- Influence leadership decisions by presenting insights on AI performance, risks, and opportunities.
- Represent the AI Integration Team in leadership meetings and strategy discussions.
- Act as the final escalation point for major AI-related incidents (compliance breaches, system misrouting, hallucinations).
- Oversee root cause analysis and corrective action plans to ensure timely resolution.
- Monitor system performance, ensuring that releases and updates do not disrupt ongoing business operations.
- Implement robust processes for risk assessment, rollback plans, and issue triage in collaboration with QA and engineering teams.
- Oversee release pipeline and sign-off on final deployments to production.
- Ensure all updates meet compliance, accuracy, and business process alignment requirements before release.
- Establish governance frameworks for version control, documentation, and audit readiness.
- Partner with compliance and regulatory teams to ensure AI outputs meet legal and industry standards.
- Drive innovation by introducing new tools, processes, and best practices that improve AI performance and reliability.
- Promote a test-and-learn culture, encouraging experimentation while safeguarding business-critical operations.
- Continuously refine processes for prompt development, release testing, and conversational design.
- Benchmark AI integration practices against industry standards and competitor approaches.
Who we’re looking for
- Proven leadership experience in AI, automation, or technology integration roles.
- Strong understanding of AI prompt engineering, NLP, and conversational design, with hands-on experience utilizing AI prompts specifically focused on Quality Assurance (QA) workflows.
- Solid experience managing release cycles, QA processes, and compliance-driven environments.
- Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to bridge communication across Product, Tech, QA, and Compliance teams.
- Strong problem-solving, risk management, and decision-making capabilities.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical issues clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience leading distributed or global teams is a plus.
