Head of Development / Engineering Manager

Why this role matters:
The Head of Development leads the automation and enhancement of business processes within the Division, focusing on the Product Development teams. The role is designed to drive innovative, scalable solutions while inspiring teams and ensuring operational excellence across technical and managerial fronts.
What you'll actually do:
- Build and grow the team by hiring diverse talent and ensuring smooth onboarding and mentorship.
- Lead and inspire by fostering collaboration, engagement, and a high-performance culture, motivating the team to achieve and exceed results while leading by example and engaging directly in operational challenges when needed.
- Develop and support people through coaching, feedback, regular performance reviews, and tailored growth planning.
- Take ownership and make decisions with accountability and timely, informed judgment.
- Set direction and clarity by communicating vision, goals, and priorities, and aligning with company strategy.
- Serve as a link between technical teams and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ensure commercial strategies of your business partners are delivered timely and efficiently.
- Owns a strategic plan and ensures its delivery.
- Facilitate, moderate, and ensure that corporate reporting cycles are done according to company standards.
- Analyze and fill detected/predictable resource gaps to prevent delivery bottlenecks.
- Oversee multiple engineering projects, ensuring timely delivery within budget and scope.
- Manage resources and budgets across teams for cost efficiency.
- Responsible for cost control and budgeting.
- Define and drive the execution of technical/product strategy.
- Cascade the technical vision and software development strategy.
- Proactively identify and mitigate technical and project-related risks.
- Act as a change agent to support organizational changes and implement management decisions.
- Support the incident management process within the area of responsibility.
- Ensure technical support and software quality comply with standards and reqs appropriate to their level.
- Independently solve technical problems that match own expertise.
Who we’re looking for:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Relevant industry certifications (e.g., PMP, Agile/Scrum Master, or technical certifications in cloud).
- Minimum of 7 years of experience leading and managing enterprise-focused product development teams.
- Deep understanding of engineering, UX, solution architecture, and software development practices.
- Knowledge and hands-on experience in building robust software systems.
- Successful track record of implementing scalable, reliable solutions.
- Experience with geo-distributed systems and heterogeneous technology stacks is a plus.
- Strong track record of driving engineering innovation, continuous improvement initiatives, and fostering a high-performance, experimentation-driven culture.
- Strong leadership and people management skills, with experience leading diverse technical teams.
- Strategic thinking and change leadership capabilities.
- High ownership mindset with a passion for innovation and continuous improvement.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, especially across functions and senior stakeholders.
