This role serves as the first point of contact for all cross-functional projects involving People Services, coordinating next steps and ensuring smooth collaboration between teams.

The role also owns global governance, policy and process alignment, substance management for regulated offices, audit readiness, and the operational blueprint for new office setup from an employment and compliance perspective. Operating as an individual contributor, the Global Operations Excellence Lead enables the organisation to scale through structured governance, consistent standards, and cross-regional harmonisation.

What you'll actually do

Global Projects, Coordination & Operational Efficiency

  • Act as the first point of contact for all cross-functional projects that require People Services involvement, coordinating next steps, stakeholders, and execution across the global PS teams.
  • Lead end-to-end cross-functional operational projects across MY, CY, LATAM, Africa, and other regions.
  • Drive internal efficiency, optimisation, and scalability initiatives within People Services, identifying gaps, standardising processes, and implementing improvements.
  • Develop and manage structured project plans, timelines, risks, and stakeholder communication to ensure smooth delivery and alignment.

Governance & Global Standards

  • Establish and maintain a global governance framework across People Services, including process and policy review cycles.
  • Own global SOPs, SLAs, and operational documentation, ensuring accuracy and consistency in collaboration with the Global People Operations Manager.
  • Ensure alignment of processes, workflows, and data practices across all sites.

Substance Management for Regulated Offices

  • Partner with Regional Managers and Key Stakeholders to ensure compliance with substance and operational requirements.
  • Implement monitoring routines and controls that validate adherence to regulatory expectations.
  • Work with Compliance, Legal, and office leadership to resolve gaps and mitigate risks.

Audit Ownership

  • Lead internal and external HR/People Operations audit preparation and execution.
  • Coordinate evidence gathering, gap assessments, remediation plans, and post-audit follow-up.
  • Ensure that People Services maintains audit-ready documentation and practices

Cross-Site Alignment, KPIs & Operational Insights

  • Build strong collaboration routines across all regions to ensure aligned ways of working.
  • Track operational maturity and drive improvements across sites.
  • Develop and maintain global KPIs, dashboards, and governance metrics.
  • Use data and insights to identify gaps, strengthen processes, and guide leadership decision-making

New Office Setup (Employment & Operational Blueprint)

  • Own the operational blueprint for People Services in new office openings, covering employment, compliance, payroll readiness, onboarding, and data setup.
  • Partner with Legal, Compliance, Finance, Facilities, and HRBPs to ensure operational readiness and compliance for new jurisdictions.
  • Create scalable frameworks enabling predictable, compliant office expansions.

  • Ongoing learning in employment law, HR systems, process optimisation, or project management is strongly valued.

Field and the level of experience

  • Proven experience in People Operations / HR Operations / Operational Excellence, preferably in a global or multi-regional environment.
  • Strong end-to-end understanding of the employee lifecycle (hire to exit), with hands-on exposure to operational execution.
  • Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional and cross-regional projects, driving outcomes without formal authority.
  • Experience supporting or managing regulated offices, audits, or compliance-heavy environments is highly desirable.
  • Solid understanding of labour law and employment compliance principles, with the ability to apply them across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Experience establishing or maintaining global SOPs, SLAs, governance frameworks, and audit-ready documentation.

  • Ability to connect systems, processes, and data flows to improve operational efficiency and governance.
  • Proven capability to simplify, standardise, and optimise processes while maintaining compliance and quality.

Specific soft skills, behavioral or managerial competencies

  • Highly organised, detail-oriented, and comfortable operating as a senior individual contributor.
  • Data-driven mindset with the ability to use insights and metrics to guide decisions and improvements.
  • Naturally proactive, structured, and improvement-oriented.
  • Comfortable working in ambiguity and building structure where it doesn’t yet exist.
