Trading Risk Protection Team Leader

Your role at Exness:

The purpose of this role is to lead and develop the Trading Risk Protection team to ensure a secure and well-controlled trading environment. The role oversees the monitoring of client trading behaviors, identification and prevention of abuse activities, and continuous improvement of control systems.

You will:

  • Lead and manage the Trading Risk Protection team with clear objectives, balanced workload, and high performance.
  • Oversee daily operations related to trading behavior monitoring, alert handling, and investigations.
  • Set and maintain effective KPIs and control standards for monitoring and reporting activities.
  • Review and validate reports on abnormal trading behaviors and potential abuse cases.
  • Identify and assess patterns of trading abuse and system vulnerabilities.
  • Develop and maintain preventive frameworks and operational procedures to minimize risks.
  • Ensure consistent application of internal policies and regulatory standards across the team.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance monitoring tools, alert logic, and data integrity.
  • Drive automation and process optimization within the monitoring and investigation workflow.
  • Recommend improvements to risk detection methods based on market trends and internal insights.
  • Contribute to system design and enhancements supporting trading protection and controls.
  • Foster a collaborative, high-performance culture through strong leadership and hands-on engagement.
  • Support team member growth through coaching, feedback, performance reviews, and development planning.
  • Make accountable, informed decisions with timely execution and strong ownership.
  • Prepare future leaders through succession planning and long-term capability building.

What makes you a great fit:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Economics, Finance, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in trading risk prevention or risk management within the CFDs/Forex industry.
  • (Nice to have) 1–2 years of team leadership or managerial experience, ideally in risk or trading control functions.
  • Project management experience is an advantage.
  • Strong understanding of CFD and Forex products, trading platforms, and risk mechanics.
  • Solid knowledge of trading abuse patterns, execution systems, and the trade lifecycle.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with strong data interpretation capabilities.
  • Strong grounding in operational risk management and compliance principles.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability to motivate, guide, and develop a diverse team.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • High attention to detail paired with a strategic mindset.
  • Resilience, decisiveness, and ability to perform under pressure in a 24/7 operational environment.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in fast-changing environments.
  • Capability to build strategic risk models and enforce robust protective frameworks.
  • Strong communication and listening skills to navigate cultural dynamics, align risk appetite, and build trust across internal and external teams.
