Recognised globally as a Best Place to Work, we’re a people-first company where long-term wins always matter more. As part of our team, you will shape the future of fintech with real technology, care, and purpose.

Why this role matters

As a Market Data Engineer in the Market Data team, you will design, build, and maintain high-performance financial data pipelines and platforms that power trading, risk, and analytics at Exness. You will work with raw and derived datasets across S3, Data Lake, and ClickHouse, ensuring scalability, reliability, and accessibility. The role includes integration with external data providers, development of financial reference data, and supporting production-ready market data services.

What you'll actually do

  • Take end-to-end responsibility for market data pipelines in S3, Data Lake, and ClickHouse, delivering scalable architectures and high-quality data products used across trading and analytics.
  • Design and optimise schemas, manage cluster performance, and support scaling processes.
  • Support and maintain market data ETL services (e.g. Airflow), ensuring monitoring, incident response, and continuous improvement.
  • Enhance mapping, maintain data quality, and add historical tracking for reference datasets.
  • Build and maintain connectors to external providers and other sources to enrich financial reference data.
  • Deliver new historical data marts for users (quants, analytics, risk teams) and improve discoverability.
  • Optimise user queries, deploy ML solutions created based on market data to production
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, provide and extend expertise in Exness financial data, maintain reliable dashboards (Grafana), and empower advanced analytics

Who we’re looking for

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software/Data Engineering, or related field
  • 4+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role.
  • Proven experience working with large-scale, high-volume and low-latency datasets, ideally in fintech or trading.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL and distributed databases (ClickHouse strongly preferred).
  • Hands-on experience with object storage (S3/MinIO), Spark, Trino (nice to have) and Data Lake.
  • Proficiency in Python for data processing and automation. Experience with other programming languages (Go, Rust, Java) is a plus.
  • Experience with AWS ecosystem (e.g., S3, EC2, IAM, CloudWatch) and understanding of cloud-native data architectures.
  • Experience with streaming and messaging systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar).
  • Familiarity with APIs integration (REST, WebSocket, gRPC).
  • Good understanding of data modelling, partitioning, compression, and query optimization.
  • Experience with dashboarding/monitoring tools (Grafana, Prometheus).
  • Knowledge of version control and CI/CD practices.
