
Backend Software Engineer, Golang (AFC Engineering)
Your role at Exness
We’re looking for a proactive and experienced Backend Software Engineer, Golang to join our AFC Engineering team. This team is responsible for building internal tools and systems that combat financial fraud. You’ll work at the intersection of engineering and anti-fraud processes in a high-load, fast-evolving environment where your code directly impacts the financial safety of Exness and its clients.
Established in 2019, the AFC Engineering team is a close-knit group of professionals focused on creating critical solutions for the Anti-Financial Crime department. We don't just automate workflows—we build smart, high-impact tools that help detect threats, predict risks, and prevent fraud in real time. You'll have the opportunity to apply creative thinking, initiative, and technical ingenuity while deepening your expertise in the fraud prevention domain.
What you'll do:
- Work on mission-critical anti-fraud projects where your decisions have a direct impact on the company’s security
- Tackle exploratory and unconventional engineering problems with a high degree of uncertainty
- Design, develop, and maintain web applications and backend services for internal AFC needs
- Deliver new features and improvements iteratively within quarterly planning and sprints
- Own the full development lifecycle: from requirement gathering to production support
- Collaborate with Business System Analysts to turn real-world fraud scenarios into technical solutions
- Cooperate closely with developers, QAs, DevOps, and analysts in a cross-functional team
- Set up monitoring, alerting, and logging for internal systems
- Manage service access and integration with other AFC tools

What makes you a great fit:
- 5+ years of backend development experience (3+ years with Golang)
- Strong experience with relational databases, complex queries, and performance optimization
- Understanding of Kafka or RabbitMQ message queues
- Experience with ClickHouse and PostgreSQL
- Skilled in Docker and Kubernetes
- Deep knowledge of design patterns, SOLID principles, and clean code practices
- Experience with writing tests and working in CI/CD environments
- Comfortable dealing with complex business logic and data-heavy applications
- Self-motivated, responsible, and proactive
- English proficiency at upper-intermediate level or higher
Nice to have:
- Experience with Python
- Experience with Frontend: React, TypeScript
- Understanding of observability and alerting best practices
- Background in fraud prevention, FinTech, or security
- Familiarity with gRPC or other high-performance protocols
