Platform Data Engineer (DWH Team)

Your role at Exness:

We are looking for a Platform Data Engineer to join the Data Warehouse team. You will work on developing a company-wide data warehouse (Vertica) and data solutions that support business growth and new challenges. In addition, you will be part of a friendly and professional team.

You will:

Work in the Development of Data services for Data-Driven Decision Making, such as:

• Develop and maintain the Data Warehouses (e.g. Vertica) frameworks;
• Maintain and enrich an environment for the creation of the data assets such as (ETL/ELT pipelines, DDL, etc.) via developing of the data transformation tool (DBT);
• ​​Orchestration automatization using Airflow and k8s (integration with DBT, DAG autogeneration);
• Implement and maintain Data Catalog, Data lineage, Business Glossary.

Active participation in the development of the data platform environment:

• Creating and monitoring compliance with data security policies, code policies, naming convention;
• Participate in Data department architecture development;
• Recommend ways to improve data reliability, efficiency, and quality.

What makes you a great fit:

• Experience with column and MPP databases like Vertica, GreenPlum, ClickHouse and similar;
• Experience with relational database PostgreSQL, Oracle and similar;
• Experience with Big Data Processing & Data Lake building;
• Experience building ETLs/ELTs to take data from various data sources;
• Experience with workflow orchestrators like Airflow, Dagster, Prefect;
• Python skills associated with data engineering activities;
• Expert structured query language (SQL) knowledge;
• Data Warehouse modelling knowledge;
• Understanding of base principles CI/CD in the data processing area.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills;
• Spoken and written at least Intermediate English;
• Detail-oriented and critical thinking;
• Decision-making and adapting to new changes;
• Write concise and clear documentation;
• Deal with constructive critics and know how to develop relationships with the team to achieve common goals;
• A good work ethic.

It will also be a plus:

• Experience with Data Catalog frameworks implementation;
• Practice knowledge of Apache Spark on batch and real-time data processing;
• Awareness of building stream-processing systems using solutions such as Flink.
• MPP databases experience.
