RightShip Inspector Accreditation - Expression of Interest

Due to increased demand for our Inspection services, we are seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified marine personnel, experienced in undertaking risk-based ship inspections, to join our global pool of contract Inspectors. 

RIGHTSHIP INSPECTOR TRAINING TESTING AND ACCREDITATION (TTA) - PROGRAM GUIDELINES

About the Role 

Who should apply: 

  • Individuals or Companies that would like their candidates to participate in the RightShip inspection program. 

Accreditation process: 

  • After successful approval of a candidate’s application, RightShip will arrange an approved RightShip Inspector Training Course and an Examination at a RightShip designated examination center or an Online RightShip Inspector Training Course and Examination. 

Key Responsibilities 

The inspector must be able to: 

  • Perform and complete the inspection in accordance with the RISQ. 
  • Inspector must be able to demonstrate the ability to communicate clearly in written and spoken English 

Skills and Knowledge 

The RightShip Dry Inspector must hold or have held the following certificates: 

  • Master certificate of competency issued in accordance with the STCW convention for vessel’s more than 3000 gross tonnage. 
  • Engineer Class 1 certificate of competency issued in accordance with the STCW convention for vessels more than 3000 gross tonnage. 
  • The inspector must have a minimum net sea going experience of 24 months as Senior Officer (master, chief officer, chief engineer, and second engineer) and a total of at least 60 months of sea time on board dry cargo or tanker vessels. 
  • Candidates that do not meet the criteria may be consider by the RightShip Training and Accreditation committee on the case by case. 

The inspector must be able to demonstrate familiarity with the following: 

  • SOLAS 
  • MARPOL 
  • COLREGS 
  • ISPS code 
  • ISM Code 
  • STCW Convention 
  • Bridge Procedure Guide 
  • International Grain Code 
  • International Maritime Solid Bulk Cargoes (IMSBC) Code 
  • BLU Code 
  • Cargo Stowage and Securing Code 
  • Code of Safe Practice for Ships carrying timber deck cargoes 
  • International Convention for Safe Containers 
  • Polar water guidelines 
  • Guide to helicopter/ship operations
