What you will be doing

Insify is looking for an ambitious and strategically strong Product Director Insurance to join us on the journey to disrupt the insurance and wealth management sector, and create the leading platform for entrepreneurs and freelancers’ financial security. 

You have either worked as a product lead before, or have a strong background in (strategy) consulting with a proven affinity for the insurance sector. 

• As product lead, you have developed, tested & launched your fair share of (business) insurance products, know what is broken and have fresh ideas on re-inventing it from the ground up to finally make insurance and wealth management what it owes to be: (truly) simple, fast and fair.
• As (strategy) consultant you have an excellent track record in diving into complex problems and proposing innovative solutions. You have developed strong project management skills, and have consulted in the insurance sector before.

As Product Director Insurance, you’ll lead our product offering in our home market (how cool?). You will be joining our Insurance team to build out our fully-automated underwriting funnel, amazing insurance products and smooth processes that will change for good how SMEs take out and manage their insurance.

In particular, you will: 

• Own the Dutch insurance roadmap, including sizing & assessing the addressable market in the Netherlands
• Drive implementation and optimization of new and existing insurance products. Working closely with our insurance and reinsurance providers
• Partner with multiple teams at Insify including Customer Operations, UX, Tech, Data Science & Analytics, Distribution & Sales
• Become a go-to expert for core products, overseeing the coverage, pricing & underwriting 
• Conduct industry research, competitive benchmarking, and small business owner interviews to prioritize and target customer’s biggest insurance needs
• Develop knowledge and keep up to date with industry and domicile developments, including regulations. This includes commercial insurance regulations for MGAs, Cells and/or Captives 
• Be responsible for the growth and profitability of our insurance product line by optimizing pricing, determining insurance offerings, rolling out to customer segments
• Research customer needs, and use the voice of the customer and product performance data to identify improvement opportunities in areas including experience simplification, pricing, and underwriting – then execute on them
• Be the ambassador (and also educator) of Dutch small business insurance to the team as well as external partners
• Develop and maintain underwriting guidelines and POG for existing and new products
• P&L management of the product portfolio of in house products

What you’ll need

You iterate between high level strategic planning and detailed execution at lightning speed. Despite having a strong strategic view you enjoy being hands on and making impact. You have seen your fair share of projects, whether during the implementation (business) insurance products or as a (strategy) consultant in the insurance space. You love reshaping products, and developing products that truly support entrepreneurs in a simplified, scalable and yet tailored way. You do not stop until the job is done. 

Specifically:

• Minimum 5-8 years of insurance experience in a fast pace environment with a track record of success (incl. insurers, MGAs, re-insurers or consultants)
• Having experience in product management in fintech/insurtech is a pre
• Customer obsessed, passionate about making great products that serve and empower small business owners
• Data hungry, with proven experience in using data driven methods in decision making and analysis 
• Excellent attention to detail and highly organized to make progress on all fronts
• Team player with strong interpersonal skills, with outstanding written and verbal communication skills (Dutch & English)
• Ability to work independently and comfortable with ambiguity
