Manufacturing & Systems Integration Manager – Semiconductor Metrology (Tainan - Taiwan)
Manufacturing & Systems Integration Manager – Semiconductor Metrology
Location: Tainan, Taiwan
Salary: NT$2.5M – NT$3.4M per year, depending on experience
Package: Taiwan benefits
Are you based in, or open to relocating to, Tainan, Taiwan?
This is a standout opportunity for a hands-on manufacturing leader with experience in complex semiconductor equipment, precision systems integration, opto-mechanical assemblies, motion control, wafer handling, or high-accuracy electromechanical platforms.
We are Infinitesima, a fast-growing, high-calibre technology company based in Abingdon, Oxfordshire, UK. Our team of 125+ people is scaling quickly, backed by global financial and industry investors, including Applied Ventures, the strategic venture arm of Applied Materials.
We are looking for a Manufacturing & Systems Integration Manager to lead the assembly, integration, qualification, and scaling of our advanced AFM semiconductor metrology platforms.
This is not a standard production management role. It is a senior, technical manufacturing leadership role for someone who understands how to bring complex precision systems together and make them reliable, repeatable, and ready for scale.
What you’ll be doing
Leading systems integration and final assembly
- Leading system-level integration and final assembly of advanced AFM metrology platforms.
- Bringing together complex subsystems, including nano-positioning stages, optics, electronics, vibration isolation, and wafer handling modules.
- Ensuring each platform meets demanding standards for performance, stability, reliability, and repeatability.
- Owning and improving detailed integration procedures, build documentation, and test protocols.
- Creating clear, controlled, and scalable processes that support high-quality manufacturing.
Scaling manufacturing operations
- Leading systems assembly and integration teams to deliver high-quality final builds and qualifications.
- Building repeatable production processes that support quality, pace, and consistency.
- Scaling manufacturing capacity as product demand and operational complexity grow.
- Preparing manufacturing for new product introduction, production ramp, and future system releases.
- Creating a calm, structured manufacturing environment where complex builds can happen smoothly.
Supporting international manufacturing in Taiwan
- Providing confident, supportive leadership at our Taiwan manufacturing site.
- Overseeing assembly, integration, validation, and qualification activity.
- Keeping local and UK teams aligned on process, quality, documentation, and priorities.
- Building effective relationships with local manufacturing partners, suppliers, and technical teams.
- Ensuring shared quality standards across international locations without compromise.
Improving process, yield, and throughput
- Designing scalable integration workflows for complex precision systems.
- Identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, yield, build flow, and throughput.
- Supporting manufacturing engineering with fixtures, tooling, assembly methods, and process improvements.
- Using structured problem-solving to resolve technical build and integration issues.
- Supporting root cause investigations with clarity, curiosity, and pace.
Working cross-functionally
- Partnering closely with Engineering, New Product Introduction, Quality, Supply Chain, Manufacturing Engineering, and Customer Support.
- Feeding manufacturing insight back into product design to make future systems easier to build, test, service, and scale.
- Supporting supplier development for precision components, optical assemblies, and specialist manufacturing partners.
- Providing technical support to production technicians and manufacturing teams when complex issues arise.
What we’re looking for
You’re a strong fit if you have experience in low-volume, high-complexity equipment manufacturing, especially where precision, stability, and system performance really matter.
You need experience in:
- Leading manufacturing, assembly, integration, or production engineering teams.
- Working with complex opto-mechanical, electromechanical, or mechatronic systems.
- Supporting manufacturing scale-up in a fast-paced technical environment.
- Working with high-precision systems requiring micron or sub-micron alignment and stability.
- Managing final assembly, system integration, qualification, or test activity.
- Developing build procedures, integration documentation, and test protocols.
- Supporting New Product Introduction, manufacturing ramp, and production scaling.
- Using structured problem-solving methods such as root cause analysis or 8D.
- Coordinating technical teams across different locations.
- Making sound decisions in complex, high-pressure manufacturing environments.
You’ll also need to be willing to travel regularly at short notice and/or be deployed internationally for extended periods.
Nice to have
It would be a bonus if you have experience with:
- Semiconductor capital equipment manufacturing or integration.
- AFM, metrology, inspection, lithography, wafer handling, or advanced semiconductor systems.
- EFEM modules, robotics, automated tool architectures, or cleanroom-adjacent equipment.
- Precision optical assemblies, vibration-sensitive systems, or motion control platforms.
- Working with international manufacturing partners or contract manufacturers.
Education and background
We’re open-minded on background.
A degree in Physics, Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline would be useful.
That said, we’re just as interested in people who have built equivalent expertise through an apprenticeship, hands-on technical career path, or deep industry experience.
What makes someone successful here
We’re looking for someone who brings:
- Technical ownership — you take responsibility and get stuck into the detail.
- Calm leadership — you guide teams through complex builds without drama.
- Manufacturing discipline — you care about repeatability, documentation, and quality.
- Collaborative energy — you work well across engineering, quality, supply chain, and operations.
- Scale-up mindset — you know how to build processes that work now and still work when demand grows.
- Problem-solving strength — you stay curious, practical, and focused when things get difficult.
- Impact — you become a trusted technical voice in your field.
Why this role is worth your attention
This is a genuinely rare role for someone who wants to sit at the intersection of semiconductor manufacturing, precision systems integration, AFM metrology, and international scale-up.
You’ll be helping to industrialise advanced technology, build manufacturing capability in Taiwan, and shape how complex systems move from engineering into reliable production.
If you’re a manufacturing leader who enjoys high-precision equipment, technical problem-solving, and building capability from the ground up, this is the kind of role that does not come around often.
Our strength lies in the varied perspectives that come from different cultures, experiences, and identities. We believe that true innovation is fuelled by collaboration, locally and globally. We strive to foster an environment where everyone can contribute meaningfully and thrive. If you require adjustments to take part in the recruitment process, please let us know, we’ll do our best to support you.
