Vice President of Agentic AI

New York

VP of Agentic AI (U.S. Forward Deployed Engineering Lead)

About Indicium AI

Indicium AI was Anthropic’s first European launch partner and sits among a handful of organizations globally trusted to deploy Claude at enterprise scale. We are also one of the first four OpenAI partners in the UK, and Databricks Ventures has invested in our business and holds a seat on our board. Our engineers have access to the latest AI tools and models, partner technical teams, and early capability previews that the wider market does not. We deploy production AI systems into the world's most complex organizations across Financial Services, Energy, and Healthcare to make AI a genuine competitive advantage.

The Opportunity

Following our deep success in Europe, Indicium AI is expanding its footprint to the U.S. We are looking for an experienced technical leader to establish and lead our Forward Deployed Engineering (FDE) practice in New York, reporting directly to our global CTO.

This role focuses entirely on Agentic AI and Business Process Optimization. You will lead our most strategic U.S. client engagements—with a heavy initial focus on New York Financial Services—while scaling the local team with an initial hire of 1–2 FDEs.

This is a player-coach role: your primary impact will come from the standards you set and the team you build, but you remain close enough to the technology to review architectures, unblock production issues, and pair with your team when it matters. You are a builder at heart, polished enough to lead a business transformation meeting with a C-suite executive, but technically deep enough to ensure production-grade systems cross the finish line.

What You Will Do

  • Establish the U.S. Team: Lead, hire, and onboard the first 1-2 Forward Deployed Engineers in the U.S., setting a high bar for technical talent, client instincts, and delivery quality.

  • Lead Client Deliverments: Own enterprise engagements end-to-end. Architect, deploy, and scale production-grade agentic AI systems that solve complex business workflow problems.

  • Bridge Business & Tech: Move fluidly between high-level business strategy with C-suite stakeholders and deeply technical architecture discussions with enterprise engineering teams.

  • Partner with GTM & Ecosystems: Partner with Sales to scope new engagements and collaborate hand-in-hand with field teams from close partners like Anthropic and AWS on joint enterprise accounts.

  • Codify the Playbook: Turn customer successes into scalable, repeatable delivery blueprints and enterprise agent deployment patterns for the U.S. practice.

What We Are Looking For

  • 8+ years in technical roles with 3+ years of experience leading client-facing engineering or delivery teams (e.g., forward-deployed engineering, technical consulting, applied AI, or solutions architecture).

  • Deep Agentic AI Domain Expertise: Production experience building AI applications, specifically utilizing agentic workflows, multi-agent orchestration, advanced RAG, and evaluation frameworks.

  • Proven "Consulting DNA": Exceptional client presence and a track record of successfully navigating enterprise corporate dynamics, compliance, and senior business stakeholders.

  • Technically Current: Strong Python proficiency and a genuine willingness to be a player-coach who can review code or jump on a keyboard when a tight deadline demands it.

  • Team-Building Track Record: Experience hiring, developing, and retaining strong engineers to grow an engineering function or practice.

  • Industry Focus: Direct experience delivering technical solutions or process optimization within Financial Services, Insurance, or Energy.

Nice to Have

  • Former technical founder or early-stage startup CTO.

  • Experience with Model Context Protocol (MCP) server development and tool ecosystem integration.

  • Experience working alongside or within partner ecosystems such as Anthropic or AWS at a senior level.

  • Alumnus of an elite FDE or applied AI environment (e.g., Palantir, Anthropic, DeepMind).

Why Indicium AI

  • Work on AI projects that actually transform the world's largest enterprises
  • Use cutting-edge AI tools and technologies every single day
  • Collaborate with global teams on high-impact, real-world solutions
  • Be backed by a supportive team that's genuinely in your corner
  • Benefit from serious investment in your learning and career growth
  • Earn competitive compensation and benefits
  • Enjoy company events and gatherings that bring the global team together
  • Join a fast-growing company where ambitious careers thrive

The anticipated base salary range for this role is $220,000 - $350,000. In addition to base pay, this position may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. An individual's final salary offer will be determined based on a variety of factors, including geographic location, experience, specialized skills, and qualifications. This compensation range is subject to updates or modifications at the company’s discretion

Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
