AI Platform Engineer

Due to our ambitious AI integration goals, we are looking for an AI Platform Engineer to join our Product & Technology unit in Tallinn. 

At Inbank, AI is already embedded in our products and workflows—you won’t be starting from scratch. Instead, you will build on an existing foundation and scale its impact across the organization.

This is a hands-on role with strong strategic impact, working closely with the CPTO & Head of Tech Platform to shape and drive our AI platform strategy. You’ll play a key role in guiding decisions across architecture, tooling, and cloud infrastructure, helping turn vision into execution. In doing so, you will connect AI strategy to tangible business value - ensuring strong ROI while upholding banking-grade security, data protection (DLP), and regulatory compliance.

What you will be doing?

• Take ownership of how AI evolves at Inbank—shaping the strategy and turning ideas into production-ready solutions.
• Work closely with the CPTO & Head of Tech Platform to build and evolve Inbank’s AI ecosystem, making key decisions on LLM architecture (internal vs. external), agentic tooling, and cloud infrastructure.
• Evaluate the current landscape of tools and applications to identify what delivers value, where improvements are needed, and where AI and automation can have the greatest impact.
• Design, prototype, and implement AI solutions (PoCs), writing code and configuring services to validate ideas quickly and scale successful ones into production.
• Own AI as an internal product—managing vendor costs, optimizing model usage, and ensuring every initiative delivers measurable business value and ROI.
• Build a secure and scalable AI foundation for a regulated environment, ensuring GDPR compliance, enforcing data loss prevention (DLP), and maintaining strong auditability.
• Enable engineers across the organization by providing the right toolkits, frameworks, MCP servers, and best practices for safe and effective AI adoption.
• Establish clear guidelines and governance for AI usage, working closely with Risk, Oversight, and senior leadership to ensure compliance and alignment with company priorities.
• Contribute to the long-term vision of embedding AI across Inbank, making it a secure, scalable, and impactful part of everyday work.

Ideally, you would have:

• A strong background in machine learning, data engineering, or similar, with a solid understanding of how models and data systems work in practice.
• The ability to move seamlessly between big-picture thinking and hands-on execution.
• Experience working with modern AI ecosystems, including LLMs and cloud-based platforms.
• A sharp eye for data quality and an understanding of how it impacts the success of AI solutions.
• A practical mindset for turning technical capabilities into real business impact and measurable ROI.
• Experience working in environments where security, privacy, and regulatory requirements matter (fintech is a plus, not a must).
• Confidence engaging with senior stakeholders, challenging ideas, and influencing decisions.
• The ability to communicate complex topics in a clear, structured, and convincing way.
• A proactive, ownership-driven approach and comfort operating in a fast-moving, sometimes ambiguous environment.
