Quantitative Trader Intern

Amsterdam, Netherlands

Our summer internship programme in Amsterdam is your chance to experience life as a trader at IMC. As a Trader Intern, you will delve into the proprietary trading landscape during the first week of engaging and challenging classroom-based learning. You will have the opportunity hone your skills and apply what you’ve learned with a meaningful project and weekly trading challenges. Throughout the summer, you will receive comprehensive support from dedicated internship trainers, and mentors to guide you in your work and professional development. In our collaborative office environment, you will build a valuable network of IMC traders, researchers, analysts, and engineers. YOUR CORE RESPONSIBILTIES

  • Generate new trading strategies
  • Iterate current trading strategies
  • Work on tooling, functionality, and/or visibility for specific use cases
  • Hone your trading skills by working on a relevant project, shadowing different trading desks, and participating in competitive simulated trading sessions
  • Attend workshops, presentations, trainings, and social activities alongside the full internship cohort

 

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES

  • In your penultimate year of study in mathematics, physics, econometrics, or a related quantitative field graduating in 2028
  • Experience in a programming language is a plus (e.g. Python, Matlab, or R)
  • You thrive working in an environment where creativity, teamwork, and innovation are recognised and rewarded
  • You want to make an impact on meaningful and challenging projects
  • Outstanding analytical skills
  • Genuine interest in financial markets (no prior knowledge or experience is required)
  • Must be able to start the internship on June 28, 2027

To be able to take part in IMC’s internship programme, you will need to obtain the required visa and/or permit to enter, stay and work in the Netherlands.
