University Events & Engagement Lead - APAC

Sydney, Australia

At IMC, our campus presence is how we win the next generation of talent. We're looking for a Campus Events & Engagement Lead to be the face of IMC across universities in Australia and New Zealand - attracting top students to IMC, engaging them through standout events and conversations, and building a pipeline of future talent that fuels our hiring for years to come.

This is a role for someone who thrives on the road and gets energy from building connections. You'll spend significant time on campus across the APAC academic calendar, own our relationships with university societies and faculty, and run the engagement engine that turns first-time student contact into long-term pipeline.

Your Core Responsibilities

Attraction & Engagement

  • Be the face of IMC on campus across Australia and New Zealand - the person students, societies, and faculty know and trust.

  • Confidently and credibly talk through IMC's roles, streams (Trading, Quant Research, Software Engineering, Hardware), and career pathways with students at every level - from first-year info sessions to one-on-one conversations with candidates.

Events, Societies & Partnerships

  • Own student society relationships end-to-end across our portfolio of STEM societies - from outreach through sponsorship negotiation, event delivery, and ongoing partnership management.

  • Own IMC's partnerships portfolio - sponsorships, prizes, competitions, hackathons, and faculty engagements.

  • Own in-office events that bring top students into our Sydney office: insight days, networking evenings, technical talks, and Launchpad programme touchpoints.

  • Plan, organise, and deliver IMC's full external campus calendar: info sessions, networking nights, careers fairs, and faculty engagements.

  • Travel regularly across the APAC campus calendar (Feb - May), representing IMC at universities in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide, Auckland, and beyond.

Measurement, Feedback & Continuous Improvement

  • Define success metrics upfront for every event, sponsorship, and partnership, and track ROI across the full campus portfolio to identify what delivers hires and cut what doesn’t.

  • Feed real-time insights to recruiters during peak season and flex strategy mid-season as demand shifts across streams.

  • Log every activity consistently and lead end-of-year retros to translate the season into clear recommendations for the year ahead.

Your Skills and Experience

  • 2+ years of experience in campus recruitment, university engagement, brand activation, event management, sales, or a similar relationship-driven role

  • A natural relationship builder and strong communicator, comfortable walking into a room of students, society execs, faculty, or senior hiring managers and interacting with credibility at every level

  • Strong CRM discipline - hands-on experience using a recruitment CRM or ATS to manage candidate pipelines, run segmented outreach and track engagement over time

  • Data-aware and outcomes focused, being able to set success metrics up front, evaluate event and partnership ROI. With the ability to translate a busy season into clear, actionable retros that shape next year's strategy

  • Proven ability to build long-term talent pipelines - maintaining strong relationships with candidates in the pipeline for roles 12–24 months out

  • Highly organised with a strategic mindset - able to run multiple concurrent events and follow-up streams without things falling through the cracks.

  • Driven and self-directed - comfortable owning a region, making judgement calls on the road and reprioritising effectively during peak periods without needing constant sign-off

  • Genuinely enjoys travel and the variability of campus season, this isn't a desk job from February to May

  • Australian/NZ working rights essential
