
Power Trader (Intraday)
IMC is continuing to grow its trading initiative in Aarhus, Denmark, to become a major player in the European Power and Gas markets. This expansion is built on a strong foundation of experienced external hires in Trading and internal talent in Technology. Core Responsibilities
- Monitor multiple European power markets (CWE, Eastern Europe, UK & Nordics) and the relevant supply and demand factors
- Be an active part of the trading team and participate in shift rotation (evenings and weekends) to catch market opportunities
- Execute trades based on quantitative signals and/or discretionary insights
- Contribute to a shared proprietary trading book
- Ensure nominations and scheduling are carried out correctly
- Develop into a domain expert within the relevant markets and products
- Drive innovation in trading strategies
- Support training of new joiners on the desk
Skills and Experience
- Strong academic background, preferably in a quantitative field
- 2+ years of professional experience in trading intraday power in Europe, preferably at a proprietary trading desk
- Proven track record of P&L ownership
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a healthy risk appetite, competitive nature, and fast decision-making capabilities
- Strong analytical and modelling skills, preferably in Python
- Fluency in English
