Financial Controller

IMC is looking for an experienced Financial Controller to join our head office in Amsterdam, reporting to the Group Finance Director. This role is integral to our small, high-performing team and involves close collaboration with stakeholders across various departments and regions.

This position offers an exciting opportunity to shape the financial framework of our operations, providing ample room for professional growth and development. To excel in this role, you will combine your financial expertise and analytical skills to add value without creating bureaucracy to the business. We are looking for someone who can bring expertise and at the same time has a critical, proactive, and hands-on approach.

 

Your Core Responsibilities: 

  • Preparation of financial reporting for the multiple entities including annual reporting
  • Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes for international entities
  • Oversee intercompany reconciliations, eliminations, and foreign currency translations
  • Develop and maintain financial policies, procedures, and internal controls
  • Involvement in cash management and managing the group’s liquidity and FX exposures
  • Collaborate and execute day-to-day accounting activities
  • Liaise with external auditors
  • Drive standardization, harmonization and automation of finance processes across subsidiaries
  • Establish and develop relations with a diversity of stakeholders on several levels

 

Your Skills and Experience: 

  • Academic degree in Economics, Finance or equivalent with 5-10 years’ relevant work experience with accounting qualification (RA)
  • Big4 audit experience is a plus
  • Proven hands-on experience in financial control, preferably within the financial industry
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and local statutory reporting requirements
  • Deep understanding of consolidation of international entities (multi-entity, multi-currency, multi-GAAP environments)
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to understand and investigate complex issues
  • Proven ability to successfully identify, drive, and implement process and internal control improvements. Has control mindset.
  • IT savvy and good working knowledge of Finance systems
  • Highly motivated individual who has the ability to work in fast-moving and high-pressured environment
  • Treasury experience is a plus
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
