US Treasuries Options Trader

IMC has long been a major player in the US macro volatility trading space, and we are now strengthening our presence in the Fixed Income, Commodities and Currencies options space with the establishment of a team in London. We’re currently looking for an experienced fixed income vol trader in London to manage our US Treasuries options trading during European hours and contribute to the growth of the broader strategy.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary US Treasuries Options vol trader during European market hours, driving strategies forward to success
  • Maximize revenue through identifying and capitalizing on mispricing and dislocations and through managing larger positions
  • Conduct analysis by leveraging IMC’s state-of-the-art analysis capabilities; collaborate closely with traders, quant researchers and developers based in Chicago and London to establish best practices and drive larger scale improvements in our trading strategies and set-up
  • Play an active role as part of the ongoing buildout of IMC’s trading capabilities in Fixed Income-related products (options, futures, cash bonds, ETFs) across US & European offices
  • Moderate amount of travel (a few weeks a year) expected to Chicago to work with colleagues based there

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 2+ years of experience in Fixed Income volatility trading; prior exposure to CME-listed Treasuries Options preferred
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a healthy risk appetite, strong self-reflection and communication skills, and ability to make decisions amidst uncertainty
  • Ability to identify patterns and conduct analysis; Python experience is a plus
  • Passion for understanding volatility dynamics and willingness to quickly act on opinions to capture market opportunities
  • Strong understanding of the fundamental drivers of the products traded; ability to work effectively with other macro traders and analysts to make decisions
