Equity Analyst

IMC is seeking an Equity Analyst to join our expanding research team, supporting our European Equity Options trading business. In this role, you will collaborate closely with research team members and traders, focusing on a designated sector. Your work will involve analyzing specific companies, stock catalysts, and news to identify profitable opportunities in our traded products. Through effective collaboration with the trading team, you’ll maximize the impact of your research, directly influencing our trading positions, risk management around events, and ultimately, profitability. Your Core Responsibilities: 

  • Stay on top of all relevant news flow that may impact the symbols that we trade
  • Provide real-time news analysis to traders, including potential stock price impacts
  • Identify and analyze possible outcomes for both short- and medium-term stock moving events
  • Create actionable trade ideas and work with the trading team to manage risks and profit from your research.

Your Skills and Experience: 

  • Good communicator with strong interpersonal skills
  • Comfortable with quantitative and qualitative data analysis, financial modelling and forecasting
  • Self-starter who is proactive in identifying new opportunities for the desk
  • 1-4 years’ experience as an equity analyst /associate (familiarity with a trading environment preferred
  • Comfortable working with and making calls on incomplete information
  • Ability to work successfully in a fast-moving and competitive environment
  • Experience with Python and Options knowledge is a plus
