Compliance Sustainability & Risk Associate
Duration: 18-month contract
Reports to: Compliance Manager
Job purpose: To support the compliance manager in ensuring that the IFRS Foundation manages business and compliance risks.
The team: This role sits within the Compliance, Risk, and Internal Sustainability function within the broader Governance and Trustee Activities team. The position involves close collaboration with both the legal and talent development departments, as well as partnership with other teams on key projects.
Principal accountabilities:
Regulatory Compliance
- Monitor changes to UK and international regulatory requirements across all business operations and update the compliance calendar as needed
- Maintain the policy register, ensuring data is up-to-date and prompting policy owners to review their policies and procedures
- Conduct regular compliance risk assessments and assurance exercises
- Support the development and maintenance of compliance training and guidance to staff at all levels
Sustainability Compliance
- Coordinate the annual GHG emissions calculation for the Foundation with the support of external specialists
- Maintain the Foundation’s Environmental Management System
- Secretariat to the Foundation’s Environmental Sustainability Leads Group
- Monitor compliance with environmental regulations and sustainability commitments
Risk Management & Monitoring
- Gather non-conformance data from across the Foundation and contribute to the regular reporting to the Trustee Audit and Risk Committee
- Compile key risk indicator data for regular reporting to the Executive Risk Committee
Advisory & Strategic Support
- Maintain compliance function SharePoint pages
- Gather information to complete due diligence requests from third parties
Qualification & experience:
Essential
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or suitable relevant experience
- Minimum 3 years' experience in sustainability or compliance
- Experience with environmental social and governance (ESG) regulations, sustainability reporting frameworks, and environmental compliance requirements
- Experience with international regulatory frameworks (EU, US, Canada, Asia-Pacific)
- Experience of monitoring control frameworks / conducting assurance checks

Desirable
- Familiarity with reporting under the Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Protocol
- Experience working with an enterprise risk management framework
- Experience creating instructional materials for employees
- Skilled in preparing compliance reports for senior leaders
- Knowledge of working with learning management systems
- Prior involvement in a global organisation
