Accounts Receivable Manager

Duration: 12 months Fixed Term Contract
Salary: Competitive, plus benefits

Purpose: This newly created position will support the Financial Controller by ensuring effective management of receivables, improving processes and ensuring the accuracy of revenue recognition.

Principal Accountabilities

Key tasks include:

  • Direct report for 2 members in the Revenue Finance team, providing support and back-up as required
  • Approve all revenue contracts in Salesforce, ensuring correct categorisation
  • Approve all invoices and handle revenue recognition: ensure accuracy and timeliness
  • Oversea the credit control process
  • Chase donors on outstanding contributions
  • Month-end: calculate and post monthly journals (accruals, deferral, bad-debt provision)
  • Monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  • Assist with internal and external audits
  • Process improvement: lead initiatives like revenue automation and documentation of key processes
  • Manage all revenue templates in Business and update as required
  • Liaise with Communications team to update funding and thank-you letters
  • Liaise with Legal team on contracts in Salesforce
  • Provide ad-hoc support to the Financial Controller and the wider team as required

  • Proactive in seeking guidance when planning or prioritising complex or conflicting tasks
  • Willingness to learn and develop new skills/flexible 'can do' approach
  • Confident displaying leadership and professionalism whilst being approachable and having duty of care for direct reports
  • Excellent numerical skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
  • Demonstrated commitment to the organisation's mission and values, understanding the unique aspects of the not-for-profit sector.

 

Qualifications and experience

Essential:

  • ACCA/CIMA/ACA newly qualified accountant
  • Understanding of revenue recognition principles, accounting standards (GAAP/IFRS), and financial reporting
  • Experience in managing a small team
  • Excellent numerical skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proficiency in Excel at intermediate level and above
  • Previous experience working with multiple currencies

Preferred:

  • Experience working in an international environment.
  • Experience working with Business Central and Salesforce
