Senior .NET Engineer - Embedded Device Webb API (DeviceSide)

Genève, Geneva, Switzerland

ID Quantique (IDQ) as part of IONQ, is a global leader in quantum-safe communications and quantum detection systems. We provide solutions to protect governments, telecommunication infrastructures, and banking & financial institutions from the “harvest-now, decrypt-later” threat, delivering both terrestrial and space-based quantum-safe networks in live operation globally. Our Quantum Detection Systems push the limits of single-photon detection, powering breakthroughs in quantum communication, sensing, computing, and ultra-sensitive imaging in partnership with top researchers and tech innovators worldwide.

What to expect

We are seeking a Senior .NET Engineer - Embedded Devevice Web API (DeviceSide) to own a lightweight, secure, and resilient device-side Web API that runs on quantum network nodes. This API enables centralized orchestration services to manage devices remotely, including configuration, monitoring, and operational actions, even under constrained, intermittent, or air-gapped conditions.

What you'll be doing

  • Implement and maintain the embedded device Web API as the primary management interface on the node; ensure compatibility with centralized orchestration services and their end-to-end management workflows.
  • Integrate telemetry and eventing (OpenTelemetry Collector, SignalR, MQTT) with robust backpressure and offline-buffering strategies.
  • Support multiple management paths (local console, SSH, remote API) with strict authentication/authorization and auditable actions.
  • Optimize embedded constraints: low memory/CPU, secure update, deterministic startup/recovery, and safe rollback.
  • Collaborate with hardware/firmware and crypto teams to expose device capabilities via stable contracts.

What you'll bring

  • 8+ years in .NET backend with experience on edge/embedded Linux services or appliance-style products.
  • Strong security (TLS/mTLS, cert pinning, secure storage) and defense-in-depth mindset.

You'll be a great fit with

  • Experience with serial/SSH tooling, constrained networks, update pipelines, and observability on the edge.
  • Exposure to SDN concepts and network management standards (for example: NETCONF/YANG) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of quantum networking and device-management interfaces is desirable.

What We Offer

· A role at one of the fastest growing and most exciting Quantum companies in the world.

· A competitive compensation scheme, benefits package and equity plan. All designed to reward excellence.

· Flexible work models that let you balance your life, your family, and your career.

· Ongoing training and development to keep your skills sharp and your growth on track.

· A career development plan within the IonQ group’s companies

· A dynamic, close-knit environment where you collaborate with a global team of experts.

· A performance-driven culture built on trust, teamwork, and shared ambition.
