What you’ll be doing

As a Senior Business Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction of our Product, Technology, and Tools initiatives. Your expertise will guide the development of solutions that drive business growth and operational excellence. If you are passionate about solving complex problems, thrive in a collaborative environment, and have a knack for translating user requirements into impactful deliverables, then this role is for you.

 

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Planning: Collaborate with leadership to define and prioritize strategic initiatives, ensuring alignment with business goals.
  • Requirement gathering: Lead workshops and stakeholder interviews to gather complex requirements and build consensus
  • Advanced Requirement Analysis: Lead the elicitation and analysis of complex business requirements, translating them into actionable plans for technical teams. 
  • Change Management: Drive organizational change initiatives, ensuring smooth transitions and adoption of new processes and technologies.
  • Performance Monitoring: Establish metrics and KPIs to monitor the effectiveness of implemented solutions, making data-driven recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks in projects and develop mitigation strategies to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior analysts, fostering professional growth and knowledge sharing within the team.
  • Documentation: Produce comprehensive documentation, including business cases, technical requirements, and user stories.
  • Apply deep product sense to optimize workflows, resolve pain points, and innovate solutions.

You’ll need; 

Competencies:

  • Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence decision-making at all organizational levels.
  • Strategic Thinking: Strong strategic planning skills, with the ability to align technology initiatives with business objectives.
  • Analytical Expertise: Exceptional analytical skills, capable of dissecting complex problems and devising effective solutions.
  • Communication: excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Innovation: A forward-thinking mindset, with the ability to anticipate industry trends and their implications for the business.
  • Ability to deliver actionable insights through data and product-driven solutions.
  • Product sense and the ability to balance business and user needs (nice to have)

Experiences:

  • Extensive Experience: 4–6 years of experience in business analysis or a related field, with a significant portion in senior or lead roles.
  • Project Leadership: Proven track record of leading large-scale projects.
  • Proven track record of success in product or software development environments.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing large-scale, cross-functional projects.
  • Deep knowledge of system integrations, process automation, and data analysis.

Tools:

  • Requirement Management Tools: JIRA, Confluence, Rally.
  • Visualization Tools: Lucidchart, Miro, Figma.
  • Data Analytics Tools: Tableau, Power BI, SQL (strongly preferred).
  • Automation Tools (nice-to-have): Mulesoft, Zapier.

  • Deep dive interviews: Typically 3 interview stages designed to probe deeply the extent to which you have the skills, mindset, and behaviors to succeed in the role and at Hugo
  • Assessment tasks: During the process we may request that you complete psychometric assessments and/or a presentation and/or task-based exercise

NB: the output of any assessments you complete is treated as confidential and will be used for the sole purpose of best determining your fit for the role and company

  • Meet the team: We conclude our process by arranging for you to speak with potential colleagues informally, allowing for greater insight into our culture, environment and, yes, challenges(!)
