What you’ll be doing
We are experiencing hyper-growth. In 2023, our headcount tripled and expansion to 5,000 employees is already on the horizon. Critical to our success is the ability to pivot quickly, be two steps ahead and be innovative while providing operational excellence.
As the originator of this role your purpose is to be a strategic advisor, management leader, and thought partner. In this position, you’ll play a pivotal role in assisting the CEO in the execution of strategic initiatives, streamlining processes, improving operational efficiency, driving performance improvements, fostering effective communication within the company and being a trusted advisor to the Leadership Team.
Responsibilities
- You’ll ensure projects and initiatives are executed efficiently, on time, and within budget. Develop and maintain tools to track and provide regular updates to the CEO on projects’ progress.
- Facilitate communication and information flow between the CEO, executive team, and various company’s departments to ensure alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
- You’ll need to build dashboards to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) in order to identify trends and opportunities for operational improvement. Present data-driven insights and recommendations to the CEO and the Leadership team.
- Identify opportunities for operational efficiencies and process improvements; Work with cross-functional teams to implement changes that optimize business processes.
- Lead and mentor a team of professionals to ensure effective execution of departmental and company-wide goals; Foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Assist the CEO in addressing complex challenges and solving problems, providing innovative solutions that align with Hugo’s objectives.
What you’ll need to apply
You’ll need to be entrepreneurial, satisfied only when an idea is successfully executed. We’ll look to you to be strategic, maintain a keen awareness of the interests and motivations of others, and act with integrity.
You’ll need;
- Previous experience in a startup/scaling organization.
- Proven ability to build consensus among diverse stakeholders to lead and drive change, including influencing and motivating others toward a common goal.
- Have exceptional critical-thinking skills and experience in leading data-driven practices at a systems level, including the ability to analyze data, identify trends, pinpoint problems and root causes, ask probing questions, set goals, track resources, and develop innovative solutions.
- Demonstrate the ability to successfully lead team members in balancing multiple high priority, high profile projects simultaneously
- Possesses a deep understanding of systems level operations and organizational design and uses this knowledge to deliver upon desired outcomes company-wide.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field. An MBA is strongly preferred.
- 7+ years in progressively responsible leadership roles
- Experience working in a highly structured environment - investment banking or management consulting preferred.
- Hands-on expertise in navigating African markets is a plus.
