We have an exciting opening for a graduate dams engineer to help us deliver on our expanding portfolio of UK and international research and consultancy projects.

About the Role and Team


Our Dams team works on high-profile national and international projects to ensure dam and reservoir safety, combining engineering, modelling, and innovation. We collaborate with governments, councils, private organisations, and research bodies, and they are part of the wider Floods and Water group known for award-winning digital and environmental solutions.

About the role

We’re seeking a motivated and enthusiastic graduate civil engineer to join our award-winning team working on dam safety and water management projects. You’ll contribute to dam breach modelling, hydraulic and sediment flow analysis, reservoir drawdown studies, and life safety modelling, while developing core technical and project management skills.

This role offers the chance to grow into areas such as reservoir safety risk assessment, technical design, and project delivery. You might choose to train as a Supervising Panel Engineer under the UK Reservoirs Act, specialise in dam breach modelling, or pursue project management qualifications. Whatever path you take, we’ll support your development and help you build a rewarding career in water and environmental engineering.

About you

You will have a civil engineering degree and be able to demonstrate problem solving skills, team working, independent working and a willingness to learn. Excellent communication skills in English is a pre-requisite, and as some of our work requires UK security clearance, you must already have the right to live and work in the UK.
