System Engineer

We are looking for an IT Systems Administrator with 5 years of experience to support and maintain our IT systems across several international office locations. This role is hands-on and requires someone who can work independently, troubleshoot efficiently, and ensure smooth operation of local and remote IT infrastructure.

The ideal candidate is technically versatile, service-oriented, and able to take ownership of infrastructure tasks, support requests, and local IT operations. You’ll work with a distributed team across Paris, Hong Kong, and other sites focusing primarily on the Asia region.

Key Responsibilities

Systems & Device Management

• Install, configure, and maintain end-user devices (primarily laptops and Windows OS).
• Perform routine maintenance and updates on local IT infrastructure (servers, VMs, storage, switches).
• Perform structured cabling when needed (Ethernet, patch panels, etc.).
• Provide local support for Bangkok employees and remote support to other sites if needed primarily in Asia.
• Monitor and report on system performance and escalate issues where necessary.

Technical Support

• Provide Level 1 and 2 support for hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
• Ensure timely follow-up and resolution of support tickets (JIRA).
• Assist with onboarding and offboarding processes (accounts, equipment setup, etc.)

 Network & Security Operations

• Help maintain network infrastructure (routers, firewalls, switches, Wi-Fi).
• Support and troubleshoot VPN access (OpenVPN, IPSec).
• Assist with endpoint protection tools and apply security best practices.
• Follow internal policies and contribute to maintaining a secure and compliant environment.

Documentation & Monitoring

• Maintain clear documentation of local systems, procedures, and configurations.
• Use monitoring tools (e.g. Zabbix) to check system health and performance.
• Contribute to asset management and inventory tracking.

Expected skills

General

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

Core Technical Skills

• Windows systems administration (Windows Server, Active Directory).
• Office 365 administration (users, email, Teams, SharePoint, endpoint management).
• Fluent in Linux system administration (CentOS, scripting,SSH, networking, …)
• Solid understanding of network concepts (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, VPN, Firewall, Routing, VLANs, …)
• Hands-on experience with network cabling and physical installation of devices.
• Hands-on experience with PfSense firewalls and NetGear managed switches (or similar brands) is a plus.
• Good networking skills: Cisco, Juniper,Pfsense, routing, VLAN, DMZ, VNP, … A Cisco CCNA certification is definitely a plus.
• Knowledge of PostgreSQL administration
• Knowledge of scripting languages BASH , Shell, Python
• Fluent in written and spoken English

Pay range and compensation package

• 5 days a week: Monday to Friday - office hours 8 am – 5 pm
• Remote friendly and flexible: 1 week of 5 days = one fixed day at office + 2 days a week on remote + 2 days at office on flexible dates
