Andover Operating Region

This posting is for hourly paid logistics employees to apply through.

About Us

We are Ocado Technology and we empower global grocery retailers with cutting-edge cloud, robotics, AI, and IoT. Our Ocado Smart Platform (OSP) powers highly automated Customer Fulfilment Centres (CFCs), enabling efficient, single-pick online grocery delivery

About the Role

We are looking for a dynamic Engineering Trainer to drive excellence across our evolving automated environments. In this pivotal role, you won't just be teaching; you'll be the bridge between complex technical theory and hands-on operational mastery.

You will deliver high-impact electrical and mechanical training, develop cutting-edge curriculum in collaboration with industry experts, and mentor engineering teams to ensure they are future-ready. From facilitating engaging workshops to supporting our international sites and collaborating with the LXD team, you will be at the heart of our mission to maintain world-class engineering standards. If you are a proactive problem-solver who thrives on seeing others succeed and is ready to support our teams through peak periods and beyond, we want to hear from you.

Your primary base will be across our Andover Operating Region (Andover, Bicester, Bristol). Due to the national and international scope of this function, you will be required to travel to all UK CFCs to conduct bespoke training courses as well as occasional foreign travel may also be required.

The standard working pattern is Monday to Friday, 7:30 to 15:30, with flexibility required to meet dynamic business and training needs. During our festive peak period our trainers will join the engineering team on shift within the Andover Operating Region.

About you

To thrive in this role, you’ll be a technical powerhouse with a knack for making the complex feel simple. We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate person to bridge the gap between strong technical expertise and impactful communication. You will leverage your real-world experience to design and deliver innovative training programs in an inspiring and modern environment.

What You'll Bring:

  • Qualified Engineer: You hold a minimum Level 3 Engineering qualification or a relevant degree, backed by 3–5 years of hands-on experience in electrical or mechanical environments.
  • Natural Educator: You have a proven track record of designing and delivering technical training, using varied learning methodologies to ensure knowledge really sticks.
  • Automation Expert: You possess a strong working knowledge of automation hardware, including Siemens PLCs, TGW conveyor systems, and bespoke OSP platforms.
  • Master Communicator: You can translate high-level technical concepts into clear, engaging instructions for diverse audiences, from the classroom to the workshop floor.
  • Digital Proficiency: You’re tech-savvy and comfortable using Learning Management Systems (LMS) and e-learning tools to track progress and curate world-class resources.
  • Adaptive Problem-Solver: You bring a creative, solution-focused mindset and the flexibility to support the team during peak periods, whether that’s at CFC3 or travelling internationally.

What we offer

We believe in supporting our people with meaningful, flexible benefits that prioritise well-being and work-life balance. Here’s a snapshot of what you can expect:

  • Time to recharge:
264 hours annual leave (rising after 5 years), plus the option to buy more.
  • Health & wellbeing:
Private Medical Insurance from your first month, wellbeing support through specialist apps and EAP, plus Income Protection and Life Assurance.
