About the role

We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Senior Finance Manager to join our team and play a pivotal role in accelerating business performance. In this high-impact position, you'll lead the charge in delivering best-in-class reporting and insights that shape critical business decisions and drive meaningful change across the organisation. With a focus on both internal and external stakeholders, you’ll be at the heart of delivering value for the business.

The ideal candidate is eager to build on the significant strides Ocado has made in FP&A reporting over the past 18 months. You'll dive deep into understanding the needs of our stakeholders—both inside and outside the organization—and go above and beyond to exceed expectations. This will involve engaging with Investor Relations, leading external reporting efforts, and supporting C-suite decision-makers.

You’ll collaborate with a team of exceptional finance professionals across Ocado Group’s Finance team, commercial stakeholders, and the executive leadership to deliver actionable insights that directly impact business performance. Accountabilities

  • Ensure robust and accurate reporting and insight that drives business performance
  • End-to-end ownership of internal reporting and FP&A elements of external reporting
  • Specifically, this includes: Owning and writing the first draft of our Financial Review at half-year and full year
  • Own the supporting analysis and documentation that FP&A produce during external reporting periods
  • Providing analysis and support to Investor Relations and managing the FP&A relationship with the Group’s Auditor
  • Monthly business reporting to the CFO including KPIs and other key items of analysis
  • Other relevant analysis and insights as required
  • Oversee and drive efficiency in central, collated capital reporting and analysis through your team, aligned with the commercial finance and accounting teams
  • Deliver and drive continuous improvement in our reporting and engage with all reporting across Finance to drive consistency, being the key advocate for consistency and data governance
  • Develop and deliver ongoing management accounts for Ocado Group
  • Accountable for the collation and review of Group KPIs, ensuring that we have relevant, accurate and consistent information
  • Regular (at least monthly) external/internal insight on relevant themes (e.g. capacity performance and changes, client trend analysis, balance sheet and cash flow movements, FX impacts on the P&L etc)
  • Ownership of the reporting data sources for FP&A, including financial and non-financial data
  • Be the business owner for all of our reporting and insight data, leveraging the skills of your team and expanding our data sources and tools to deliver best-in-class reporting
  • Support relevant ESG reporting and seek to improve FP&A engagement in this area
  • Own the relationship with the accounting teams (fixed assets, commercial accounting, leases, etc.)
  • Excellent engagement with the Planning team to ensure a thorough and robust understanding of budgets and forecasts against which we’re comparing
  • Accountable for any relevant project work to develop the work in or tangential to FP&A reporting and insights
  • Other relevant FP&A work, as required by the team from time to time
  • Be an exceptional people leader to a team of finance professionals

About you

  • 8+ years’ experience in a finance-based role, preferably with strong experience across disciples, particularly in FP&A. With a credible technical skillset
  • Relevant accounting qualification, or equivalent experience (e.g. CIMA, ACCA, ACA)
  • Experience in evolving, complex and challenging businesses and high levels of resilience and positivity
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and self-driven to both begin and complete activities
  • An exceptional people leader with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong control and stakeholder management experience
