Department Manger - Operations - Regent Street
OVERVIEW:
Our stores are powered by more than what's happening on the shop floor. As an Operations Department Manager, you'll lead the engine room of the business, ensuring every process, product and person is set up for success.
From stock management and operational standards to team development and planning, you'll create an environment where efficiency and performance go hand in hand. Working alongside the wider leadership team, you'll play a key role in helping the store deliver an exceptional experience for every member of our community
This position offers a salary of £42,000
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:
- Leading the daily operations of the Back of House department, ensuring stockroom standards, processes and efficiencies are maintained.
- Coaching, motivating and developing a high-performing operational team through regular feedback, training and performance management.
- Taking ownership of stock management, inventory accuracy, replenishment processes and shrink prevention initiatives.
- Monitoring operational KPIs and identifying opportunities to improve productivity, efficiency and stock availability.
- Supporting department planning, forecasting stock requirements and ensuring operational readiness for key trading periods, launches and promotions.
- Driving health & safety compliance, including safety checks, risk management and creating a safe working environment for colleagues and customers.
- Conducting investigations, managing performance conversations and supporting people processes with fairness and professionalism.
- Collaborating closely with Store Management and Department Managers to deliver shared business objectives.
- Leading operational floor walks and audits to ensure standards, compliance and operational excellence are consistently achieved.
- Delivering clear communication to your team through daily huddles, briefs and operational updates.
- Acting as a key leader within the store and stepping into wider management responsibilities when required.
- Continuously identifying opportunities to improve processes, develop talent and enhance operational performance.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
Essential Criteria:
- Previous retail management experience with a strong focus on operations, stock management or back-of-house leadership.
- Proven experience leading, coaching and developing teams to achieve operational goals and high performance.
- Strong understanding of inventory management, stock control, replenishment processes and stock accuracy.
- Ability to analyse KPIs, identify trends and implement action plans that drive operational improvements.
- Excellent organisational and planning skills with the ability to prioritise effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering compliance, operational and safety standards.
- Experience managing performance, conducting difficult conversations and supporting employee development.
- A collaborative leadership style with the ability to build strong relationships across all areas of the business.
- Excellent communication skills and confidence influencing stakeholders at all levels.
- A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities and business needs.
- Strong understanding of Health & Safety responsibilities within a retail environment.
