Finance Analyst

As a Finance Analyst at Gymshark, you’ll work closely with our Finance Managers to deliver insight, challenge thinking, and keep our finances fighting fit. Your work will help shape decisions that drive growth, add value, and deliver on our strategic goals – making you a key player in Gymshark’s next chapter.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

  • Perform independently the preparation of accurate and timely monthly management accounts and assist the Finance Manager with more complex tasks in area of monthly closure. 
  • Deliver commentary that demonstrates a comprehensive understanding of cost drivers and variance analysis as well as ensure that the information is relevant and accurate.
  • Support the Finance Manager with the development and delivery of insightful reporting to the business, which helps drive the right decisions.
  • Support the Finance Manager with budget and periodic forecast processes, providing insight into actuals, challenging submissions and contributing to resolving any potential gaps.
  • Build and maintain trusting relationships with relevant stakeholders in your business area, providing financial support and being the SME for your area.
  • Ensure correct accounting treatment in accordance with FRS 102, being pro-active to review current treatment and provide guidance to the business as required.  
  • Ownership for the reconciliation and management of key balance sheet codes, ensuring the Finance Manager is always updated.
  • Continually considering and contributing with the implementation, maintenance and improvement of robust business processes and internal controls to meet the demands of a rapidly growing business.  
  • Support the department in meeting audit requirements (internal, external and contractual) by owning and driving respective deliverables.  

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

Essential Criteria:

  • Part qualified in ACCA/ACA/CIMA or equivalent and working towards qualification.
  • Strong understanding of financial principles, management accounting, and reporting.
  • Proficiency in Excel, financial systems (SAP) and knowledge of BI tools (Looker, GCP etc.) is a must.
  • Ability to build collaborative and productive relationships across the business. Proven track record of such capability across organisations.
  • A team player, who contributes positively to the team environment but also happy working independently.  
  • A passion to learn with an inquisitive nature.  
  • Agile with the ability to work accurately at pace and deal with change.
  • Commercial acumen.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and oral and comfortable talking through technical requirements with non-subject matter experts.
  • Good organisational skills – ability to manage multiple tasks at the same time.
  • Eye for detail and high standard of accuracy. 

WHAT YOU COULD ALSO HAVE:

  • Experience working within an e-commerce environment with exposure to brick-and-mortar retail, FMCG or a similarly fast paced environment is highly desirable.
  • Experience of working with NetSuite as an end user. 

This is a hybrid role and would require the successful candidate to attend at least THREE days a week in GSHQ, Solihull, UK.
