Merchandiser
OVERVIEW:
As a Merchandiser, you lead a cross-functional team with one clear goal: to maximise the financial success of your product category. You’re at the centre of it all, combining customer insight, creativity, and commercial thinking to shape a product strategy that delivers.
Each season, you’ll build a focused, forward-thinking line plan, partnering closely with Design to identify the styles, innovations, and trends that matter most. Your decisions influence everything from what goes into the assortment to how and where it shows up for the customer.
In-season, you’re constantly analysing performance, spotting growth opportunities, and adjusting strategies to stay ahead. You drive the product through every stage of its journey; across channels, regions, and the full end-to-end process.
You’re not just reacting to trends, you’re setting them, always with the customer at the core of your decisions.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:
Strategy & Planning
Own the assortment strategy across E-comm, Stores, Wholesale, and Franchise, identifying growth opportunities and shaping a cohesive, omni-channel line plan.
Market Insight
Monitor trends and the competitive landscape to inform product decisions and maintain Gymshark’s leadership in gym apparel.
Investment & Tools
Partner with Planning on investment strategies and manage seasonal assortment tools for your category.
Product Execution
Lead style adoption through weekly fittings, POD meetings, and end-to-end execution aligned to commercial goals.
In-Season Trading
Analyse performance, identify risks/opportunities, and drive actions for monthly GCR meetings.
Go-to-Market
Create GTM packs that bring seasonal stories to life across marketing, stores, and digital.
Cross-Functional Comms
Act as the central point of contact across teams, ensuring seamless communication.
Trend Leadership
Stay ahead of product and industry trends to keep Gymshark at the forefront with Gen Z.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
Please note this is a hybrid role partially based in our New York City office. All candidates must be local or willing to relocate. You must also be authorized to work in the United States.
Essential Skills & experience:
- Ability to develop and manage product assortments that align with customer needs and market trends
- Experience working closely with cross-functional teams like planning, marketing, design, sourcing, pd to ensure alignment on product strategies
- Experience supporting strategies across multiple channels (E-Commerce, in-store, wholesale); ensuring consistent and seamless customer experience
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Understanding of current trends and competitive landscape to help guide product decisions
- Deep understanding of customer needs and preferences, ensuring product assortment aligns
- Proficient in using sales data and market trends to make informed decisions that optimize product performance.
- Demonstrable experience at this level and retail experience in apparel Buying or Merchandising
Preferred Skills & experience:
- Experience in activewear apparel
- Experience working internationally with strong knowledge of how to meet the needs of a local consumer while maintaining the integrity of a Brand
- Acumen and appreciation for fashion trends
- Experience working on multiple apparel product categories
- A love of the Gym and living an active lifestyle
SALARY RANGE
This role has a salary range between $95'000 - $115'000. The base pay offered is based on market, experience, and skills.
