What You’ll Do

As an SDE 3 – Android, you will play a key role in building and scaling mobile experiences used by millions of customers.

• Design, develop, and maintain high-quality, scalable Android applications.

• Own complex technical problems end-to-end — from understanding requirements and designing solutions to implementation, testing, and monitoring.

• Drive architecture and technical design for large-scale Android features and systems.

• Make informed decisions around performance, scalability, reliability, security, and maintainability.

• Work closely with Product, Design, Backend, Data, and other engineering teams to deliver impactful customer experiences.

• Identify technical bottlenecks and proactively improve app performance, stability, and developer productivity.

• Establish and advocate for engineering best practices, coding standards, design patterns, and clean architecture.

• Participate actively in design and code reviews, raising the engineering bar across the team.

• Mentor engineers and help them grow technically and professionally.

• Break down complex problems into simpler, actionable solutions while balancing short-term execution with long-term technical investments.

• Contribute to building a strong engineering culture through knowledge sharing, documentation, and technical discussions.

What We’re Looking For

• 5–7 years of professional experience in Android application development.

• Strong proficiency in Kotlin and Android SDK.

• Strong understanding of Android architecture, application lifecycle, concurrency, memory management, and performance optimisation.

• Proven experience designing and building large-scale, consumer-facing mobile applications.

• Strong understanding of Jetpack components, including ViewModel, LiveData/Flow, Navigation, Room, WorkManager, etc.

• Strong experience with Coroutines, Kotlin Flow, and modern Android development practices.

• Deep understanding of UI development, including custom views, layouts, animations, accessibility, and responsive design.

• Strong understanding of REST APIs, JSON, networking, and asynchronous programming.

• Experience with Retrofit/OkHttp or similar networking frameworks.

• Strong understanding of software design principles, design patterns, data structures, and algorithms.

• Experience designing modular, maintainable, and testable codebases.

• Strong understanding of Git, CI/CD, debugging, logging, monitoring, and crash analysis.

• Experience identifying and resolving performance, stability, and scalability issues in production applications.

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently on ambiguous problems.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Good to Have

• Experience with Jetpack Compose.

• Experience building and maintaining modular Android architectures.

• Experience with RxJava.

• Experience with Firebase, Analytics, Crashlytics, or other observability tools.

• Experience working with payments, financial products, authentication, or other high-security domains.

• Experience with A/B testing, experimentation, and product analytics.

• Experience contributing to or driving technical architecture and engineering standards across teams.

• Experience mentoring engineers and leading technical initiatives.
