Restaurant Partnerships Director — NYC
Groupon is a marketplace where customers discover new experiences and services everyday and local businesses thrive. To date we have worked with over a million merchant partners worldwide, connecting over 16 million customers with deals across various categories. In a world often dominated by e-commerce giants, we stand out as one of the few platforms uniquely committed to helping local businesses succeed on a performance basis.
Groupon is on a radical journey to transform our business with relentless pursuit of results. Even with thousands of employees spread across multiple continents, we still maintain a culture that inspires innovation, rewards risk-taking and celebrates success. The impact here can be immediate due to our scale and the speed of our transformation. We're a "best of both worlds" kind of company. We're big enough to have the resources and scale, but small enough that a single person has a surprising amount of autonomy and can make a meaningful impact.
Restaurant Partnerships Director — NYC
Groupon | Full-Time | New York, NY (Field-Based)
About the Role:
We're launching something new in NYC, and we need a driven, relationship-first sales professional to make it happen. As a Restaurant Partnerships Director you'll own a territory spanning Manhattan's dining scene — from the upscale and trending hotspots to the beloved neighborhood gems that make this city's food culture so special.
This is a field-based, consultative sales role centered on one thing: helping great restaurants find new customers. You'll partner with restaurant owners, GMs, and chefs to craft compelling offers on Groupon that drive new diners through their doors — turning first-time visitors into loyal regulars. Customer acquisition is the challenge every independent restaurant faces, and you'll be part of the solution.
If you're energized by autonomy, genuinely passionate about the restaurant industry and the people behind it, and want to be the person who built something from scratch, this is your role.
*Candidates must be NYC-based and comfortable working a field territory.
What You'll Do:
- Own and manage a curated territory of fine dining and upscale full-service restaurants across Manhattan and Brooklyn
- Build trusted, consultative relationships with restaurant owners, GMs, and executive chefs
- Partner with restaurants to design exclusive experiential offers, Chef's Tables, off-menu tastings, private dining events, and more
- Drive the full sales cycle from cold prospecting to close, including walk-in prospecting and in-person presentations
- Develop and execute a strategic territory plan with consistent pipeline management in Salesforce
- Serve as a market expert, your insights will directly shape how we grow and evolve this program
- Collaborate with internal teams (Account Management, Ops, Marketing, and F&B Leadership) to ensure a seamless experience for restaurant partners
What We're Looking For:
- 2+ years of field sales experience in food tech, hospitality tech, restaurant services, or SMB sales
- NYC-based (required) with the ability to be out in your territory daily — you know Manhattan's and Brooklyn's dining neighborhoods
- A natural relationship-builder who is comfortable cold-walking into a restaurant and presenting to a seasoned restaurateur
- Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales goals with a hunter mentality
- Strong consultative selling skills, you listen first, pitch second
- Comfortable managing a territory, forecasting a pipeline, and staying organized in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in Salesforce or comparable CRM
- Self-starter who thrives with autonomy and doesn't need hand-holding to perform
What Makes This Role Different:
- You're selling experiences, not software. The product is a Chef's Table at a Tribeca hotspot or an exclusive tasting menu at a West Village gem. It's a genuinely compelling pitch.
- This is your territory to own. Real ownership, real autonomy, and real upside from day one.
- Ground floor of something big. This is the foundation of Groupon's experiential F&B strategy in NYC — the people who build it will shape where it goes.
- Competitive base + uncapped commission. We benchmark to market and structure comp to keep you motivated.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Base salary $55,000 – $65,000 + uncapped commission
- Estimated OTE: $125,000+ at full attainment
- $250/weekly stipend covering metro travel and cell phone
- Benefits start the 1st of the month after your start date — Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Disability, FSAs, EAP, 401(k) match, ESPP, flexible PTO, and more
- Learning & Development: Comprehensive training, ongoing coaching, and a supportive team committed to your success
- Employee Resource Groups & inclusive team culture
