📍Prague/Madrid | 🌍 Global Creative Scope

We’re looking for a Creative Director who can set a clear creative direction, build strong campaign concepts from the ground up, and elevate the visual quality of Groupon across digital channels — while leading and developing a design team of 10+ creatives across graphic, motion, and multi-format production.

As the senior creative lead for design, you’ll own the visual direction of key campaigns, bring original ideas to life, and ensure our output is consistent, modern, and performance-driven. You’ll work hands-on (creating draft concepts, defining standards, shaping routes), while also acting as a people leader: driving team clarity, creative excellence, and strong execution through coaching, structured feedback, and smart resourcing. 💻 What You’ll Do

Lead Creative Direction & Quality Standards

  • Develop campaign concepts from scratch, including multiple creative routes, draft key visuals, and motion-first thinking.
  • Own the visual direction for seasonal and performance marketing campaigns across Meta, YouTube, and owned channels (e.g. CRM).
  • Act as a key guardian of Groupon’s visual identity — ensuring consistent brand application globally, with clear frameworks for local adaptation.
  • Build and evolve templates, guidelines, and toolkits that scale quality and speed.
  • Keeping abreast of the latest design trends, techniques, and technologies to ensure our creatives are cutting-edge and effective.
  • Translate marketing briefs into clear visual ideas and collaborate closely with Brand & Marketing leadership.
  • Constantly contribute with fresh perspectives and innovative ideas to elevate our brand storytelling across diverse markets.

Integrate AI into Creative Workflows

  • Use Generative AI tools confidently for concepting, asset creation, and accelerating production.
  • Combine AI outputs with industry-standard tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Figma) to deliver high-quality, scalable creative.

  • Define and roll out best practices for AI-driven creative processes across the team, including quality control and brand consistency.

Lead & Grow the Design Team

  • Manage and develop a team of designers across graphic, motion, and production, creating clarity on priorities, roles, and expectations.

  • Run team rituals that improve output and speed: critiques, reviews, creative kickoffs, and retros/post-mortems.

  • Coach designers through structured feedback, strengthen craft, and support career growth.

  • Partner with stakeholders to plan resourcing and ensure the team can deliver high-quality work at scale.

  • Manage external partners (freelancers/agencies) to extend capacity while maintaining standards, when applicable.

  • Run team rituals that improve output and speed: critiques, reviews, creative kickoffs, and post-mortems.

  • Actively collaborate with colleagues and foster a supportive and knowledge-sharing environment that encourages mutual growth, skill development, and the opportunity to make a significant impact.

Build Performance-Driven Creative

  • Create visuals that not only look great but also deliver measurable results in paid channels.
  • Partner with Marketing/Growth to turn insights into creative hypotheses, testing plans, and iteration cycles.

  • Establish a simple system to capture learnings (what worked / why) and improve future creative performance.

🙌 What You’ll Bring

  • .8+ years in Art Direction, Creative Leadership, or senior visual roles — ideally within e-commerce, marketplaces, or performance-driven environments.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating campaign-level thinking, concept development, and multi-channel execution (static + motion). Portfolio required—Only candidates with a portfolio will be considered. 
  • Proficiency in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite; other tools are a plus. Illustration skills are a plus.
  • Ability to quickly produce draft concepts and visual routes, and guide others from concept to execution.

  • Strong understanding of design for paid channels and what drives performance (format best practices, hooks, clarity, iteration).

  • Proven people leadership: confident giving direct, constructive feedback and guiding designers at all levels.

  • Practical experience with Generative AI tools and a proactive mindset toward adopting new creative technologies.

  • Assertive, independent, and comfortable taking creative ownership from day one — with strong stakeholder communication.
