🌟 Job Summary

As an Operational SG&A Staff Accountant, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the accurate recording, analysis, and reporting of Selling, General & Administrative (SG&A) expenses. This role is essential for supporting month-end close activities, ensuring compliance with GAAP, assisting with budget-to-actual variance analysis, and partnering with business units to optimize cost allocation and control. If you’re detail-oriented, thrive in a fast-paced, SOX-compliant environment, and enjoy working cross-functionally — this role is for you!

📌 Key Responsibilities

🧾 Prepare and record journal entries related to SG&A expenses (e.g., payroll, marketing, facilities, professional fees).

🔍 Perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.

📆 Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities.

📊 Assist in preparing internal reports and analysis for management and external auditors.

💡 Monitor and analyze actual SG&A spend versus budget and forecast.

🤝 Partner with department leaders to provide financial insights and improve expense tracking.

✅ Ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and internal controls (SOX).

📂 Support external audits and quarterly SEC reporting needs as applicable.

🎓 Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 1–3 years of relevant accounting experience (public company environment preferred).
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and internal controls.
• Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and Excel.
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical and communication skills.
