We are seeking a Senior Quality Automation Engineer - Mobile with a strong background in quality engineering, test automation, and DevOps, with a focus on mobile platforms. The ideal candidate will develop and maintain well-structured test automation frameworks emphasizing simplicity and efficiency. This role requires excellent communication and analytical skills, along with the ability to work independently and take ownership of projects.

As a Software Development Engineer in Test, you will ensure the reliability, availability, performance, and operational readiness of the Groupon platform by working on its mobile applications and backend integrations.

Our Test Engineering team leads architecture, design, implementation, and testing for high-visibility, high-impact products. We focus on developing custom test automation solutions that align with engineering best practices to support quality initiatives and maintain performance standards.


Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain automation scripts using WebdriverIO/Appium with TypeScript/Java for native Android and iOS apps.
• Build a scalable test automation framework from scratch.
• Analyze daily regression results, report issues, and collaborate on resolutions.
• Define test approaches and strategies in collaboration with product teams.
• Participate in user acceptance testing (UAT) and provide feedback to improve system enhancements.
• Prepare and deliver presentations, documents, reports, and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders.
  
  
  

What You’ll Bring:

• 5+ years of experience in test automation with expertise in tools like Appium, WebdriverIO, Java, TypeScript, and Selenium.
• Strong experience with cloud device platforms like BrowserStack, Perfecto, or Sauce Labs.
• Proven ability to develop automation frameworks from scratch for both UI and API testing, integrated with CI pipelines.
• Hands-on experience testing mobile apps on iOS and Android platforms.
• Expertise in CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions).
• Proficiency in API and performance testing.
• Strong Git skills and adherence to coding best practices.
• Deep knowledge of web, mobile, and API automation.
• Strong analytical skills to solve complex problems and deliver efficient solutions.
• Demonstrated seniority and accountability in previous roles, showcasing leadership and ownership.

Bonus Skills:

• Knowledge of Cucumber and Gherkin frameworks.
