The role requires interaction with other internal (Finance, HR, IT and Payroll) and external team members, responding to requests and providing integrated solutions.

 

We are looking for an energetic, highly analytical, and creative problem solver to join Groupon’s Human Resources Information Systems Team (HRIS). As the HRIS Integration Specialist you will support and maintain Workday Integrations and help support other Workday modules, contributing to a great employee and manager experience. 

 

You will be responsible for the overall gathering of system requirements and working with the business to ensure focus on providing solutions in their assigned functional areas of Workday to meet business needs. The new member will be responsible for configuration of Workday HCM solution, testing and troubleshooting.

 
Core Responsibilities

 

  • As a HRIS Integration Specialist, you will join our team to design, develop and test various types of Workday integrations

  • The role requires interaction with other internal (Finance, HR, IT and Payroll) and external team members, responding to requests and providing integrated solutions

  • We work in an agile, flexible approach to defining business requirements and deliverables

  • Develop and test integrations within the Workday architecture

  • Review and translate business specifications and change requests into requirements and technical specifications

  • Understand and follow defined integration/development standards and best practices

  • Leverage Agile framework principles and follow project methodologies

  • Understand and ensure data security, privacy and data quality in integrations is maintained

  • Design, develop, and maintain integrations using the latest Workday tools such as Workday Studio, EIB (Enterprise Interface Builder), Core Connectors, PICOF/PACOF, and Workday Integration Cloud.

  • Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

  • Create detailed technical design documents, ensuring adherence to best practices and Workday’s integration standards.

  • Manage and monitor integration performance, ensuring all processes run efficiently and troubleshooting any issues that arise.

  • Implement and support APIs (SOAP, REST) to integrate Workday with third-party applications.

  • Maintain data integrity, ensuring that data is accurately synced between Workday and other systems, including HCM, payroll, finance, and other associated modules.

  • Provide ongoing support and maintenance of existing integrations, addressing any updates or new requirements that arise.

  • Stay up-to-date with Workday’s latest release features and evaluate how they can be leveraged for improving integration processes.

  • Work closely with stakeholders to provide guidance on data mapping, transformation, and validation processes.

  • Perform unit testing, system integration testing, and support UAT (User Acceptance Testing) for all Workday integrations.

  • Utilize Workday’s latest tools for reporting and analytics to improve the visibility of integration performance and system health.

  • Ensure that all integration solutions are scalable, secure, and compliant with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.

 

 

 

Skills & Qualifications

 

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant technical field (Information Technology, Computer Science, Software, Engineering, or related technical discipline) or equivalent combination of training and work experience

  • 5 plus experience as Workday Integration Development

  • Proven experience with integrations: Have a deep understanding of how Workday connects to other business systems, and how to manage data flow, security, and synchronization

  • Proficiency in Workday Studio, EIBs, Core Connectors, Workday Web Services (WWS), and Workday Integration Cloud.

  • Strong knowledge of API integration technologies including SOAP and REST, as well as the latest Workday API updates.

  • Experience with XSLT, XML, JSON, and other data transformation tools.

  • Experience working with Workday Extend to customize integrations and build custom applications when needed.

  • Familiarity with Workday’s newest features such as Workday Prism Analytics, Workday Extend, and Workday Orchestrate.

  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex integration issues.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Knowledge of security standards in SaaS and cloud-based environments, particularly within Workday.

  • Experience in system integration testing, data validation, and error handling.

  • 3+ years of experience with Workday functional configuration across three or more HCM modules such as Core HR, Compensation, Benefits Payroll, Absence and Time-Tracking is highly desirable.

  • 3+ years of experience with cross-functional Workday administration including roles, permissions and security design and business process management. 

  • 2+ years of experience in HRIS project management including analysis, stakeholder engagement, and documentation. . 

  • Proven experience handling confidential and sensitive information. 

  • Ability to understand and react quickly to changing priorities

  • Compliance experience in PII, GDPR, SOX preferred. 

  • Workday certification is a plus


 

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of Workday modules especially Core HR, Recruiting, Time and Absence, Payroll, Business Processes, Organizational Hierarchies and Integrations Security

  • Experience working with Workday Payroll in-house and/or Workday solutions integrated with third party payroll providers. PECI/PICOF experience is preferred

  • Experience developing Workday integrations (EIB, Core Connectors, Advanced Custom Reports and Document Transforms) is mandatory

  • Experience in building integrations using Workday Web services and APIs (WSDL, SOAP, REST and WS standards)

  • Experience working in XML, XSLT, Workday Custom Reports and Workday Custom Objects, BIRT

  • Experience in automation tools and programming languages outside of Workday space (MS Power Apps, SQL, HTML)
